In the 14th region, word has it that knott central is eligible to be in the tourney next year......possibly Leslie, Breathitt and Estill is close. My question is this.....Should and will True all A schools withdraw from the tournament? Is it doing what it should be designed to do? Knott Central has a total enrollment of 650. If they are eligible, under the current guidelines, they would have to have a freshman class of 226 or more. Certain schools hide some of their sophomores into the freshman class first semester to get eligible because they only count grades 10-12 for a total enrollment of 425. 2nd semester these so called 2nd year freshman then bump up to their true status of sophomores. If a school has 226 freshman they are NOT an All A school. I would call for all true all a schools to withdraw from the all AA tournamnet (pun intended for AA). Maybe we could rent Morehead state and have a true state tournament for the all A schools.

That is the mountain mentality that puts us 20 years behind everyone else. While other states have equity in how they compete with their high schools with class sizing (all other 49 states class size) Ky. does not. If Knott Central has 650 total population then their freshman class would have to have 226 kids to have them eligible for the way the all a is set up now(which is allows for 2A schools to get in) To me, a school with 226 or more freshmans should not be in the all a tournament. But here in the mountains, we just hump up and say we are proud and can't do anything about it. That is why I feel all of the TRUE all A Schools should withdraw from the tournament if knott leslie breathitt or estill either one get in. Touchstone energy can have a All AA state tournament if they wish......Someone else could sponsor a true all A tournament for what it is designed for.

You could start by saying that if you are 2A in football then you are not a true all A school...if you are A in football then you are. If you have 250 freshman and 425 10-12 that puts you at 675. That would put you at 3A in florida, and Tenn. and I'm sure other states. 650 or more you are not an all a school.

This is not what the all a was intended to do.....Another rumor has it that if these schools get in the TRUE all A schools in the region will GET OUT of the tournament.

Wolfe has some sickness and gilbert has a broken bone in his hand. Coach Creech will get his troops rallied he has left and give a great effort. Don't know if it will be enough to pull out a win but the wolves will give a great effort!

Wolfe is going to be tough when they get a few games under their belt with stamper and crowe now eligible

Chris STamper is eligible soon for wolfe. He is as good a scorer as gilbert....that will make wolfe much tougher to defend. You are so right about needing more than one scorer. Lee County does have multiple weapons.
