Who is your favorite to win 2A?
buffalo kid replied to Newcath37's topic in KY Football (High School)
The rankings have NewCath as the #1 team in the state so they must be the favorite until they get beat. I think Danville will have a tough 2nd round game with Bardstown and Ft. Campbell will have to beat Owensboro Catholic again. Both of those games will be great games and those are only 2nd round games. Then the two winners must play each other in the 3rd round. What a tough bracket for District 2 and District 4. They always say, " TO BE THE BEST, YOU MUST BEAT THE BEST." -
RB Troy Turner at Ft. Campbell. Rushed for over 1500 yards as a freshman and just went over 1000 yards this year for the Falcons.

2007 Best Coaching job in Western, Ky
buffalo kid replied to Tigertalker's topic in KY Football (High School)
I remember Ft. Campbell had their backup QB in against Lone Oak due to Croft being injured. I think they should play each other next year. 4A vs 2A Schedules are probably already set for next year, though. -
2007 Best Coaching job in Western, Ky
buffalo kid replied to Tigertalker's topic in KY Football (High School)
The best thing that happened to Lone Oak is getting out of the Class 2A, 1st district because they couldn't hang. Robinson played in that district for at least 2 years and I remember some blowout scores. Moving to another class with less district teams helped them this year. -
I agree. The Falcon defense has been vicious. Trigg did not get their 1st first down until the Falcons jumped offsides on a 4th and 4 in the 3rd quarter. Trigg had 7 possesions in the 1st half that resulted in 3 plays and punt. Great win for the Falcons!!! The final score really shocked me!

Ft. Campbell 29 Owensboro Catholic 6
buffalo kid replied to Birdsfan's topic in KY Football (High School)
Ft. Campbell played a great defensive game and was hitting the Aces backs and receivers very hard all night long. The Aces QB didn't have much time to set and throw as the Falcon defense put the heat on him all night long. The first quarter was very sloppy by both teams as there were 5 turnovers and no scoring. Catholic scored first on a trick play, halfback pass, but Fort Campbell ran the ensuing kickoff back to take the lead. Falcon running back Troy Turner had 25 carries for 115 yards and 3 td's. Good win for the Falcons but will see the Aces again in 4 weeks when it really counts. -
Caldwell County 41 Trigg County 14

I am surprised by this score. I thought it would be a lot closer than this. Trigg will have a rematch with them in 4 weeks, in Princeton again. -

Everyone remember, the real game will be on Nov. 16th in the rematch (2nd round of playoffs) Winner moves on, loser goes home. -
Fort Campbell/Hancock County Predictions
buffalo kid replied to FC's topic in KY Football (High School)
haven't played Hancock County since 1982 season. The winner of this game should have a first round home playoff game. I think the falcons will take this one at home 35- 7. -
The Falcons led 36-0 at halftime and held Ft. Knox to -58 yards rushing for the game. Ft. Knox passed for 45 yards giving the Eagles -13 yards of total offense on the night. Great job Falcon defense. QB C. J. Croft had 3 carries for 78 yards and 3TD's along with 3 TD passes. Big District game next week against Hancock County at home.

Ft. Knox @ Ft. Campbell (Army Bowl)
buffalo kid replied to buffalo kid's topic in KY Football (High School)
This is the 32nd meeting in this series. Ft. Campbell leads the series 17-14 winning the last 4 by a score of 181-22. -
No matter what the records are in this series, this is always a bragging rights game for the players and soldiers of each Army base.

Ft. Campbell 56 Todd Co. Central 20

Dexter Durrante had 11 rushes for 185 yards and 2TD's for the Falcons. Quarterback C.J. Croft had 2 rushing TD's and passed for 2 more. The Falcons jumped out to a 35-7 halftime lead. Also Maurice Henderson rushed 7 times for 98 yards and also caught a TD pass. Great job Falcons!!!! ARMY BOWL IS NEXT!!!!!!!!!!! -
Fort Campbell 23 Paducah Tilghman 20
buffalo kid replied to firstregionking's topic in KY Football (High School)
Paducah scores their 3rd TD in the 2nd Quarter to take a 20-12 lead and then goes for a 2 pt-conversion instead of an extra point. They miss it and the score stays at 20-12 instead of possibly going to a 21-12 lead and the Falcons needing 2 scores. Could have made the field goal at the end a little tougher. -
Trigg County vs. Murray predictions
buffalo kid replied to Fletch's topic in KY Football (High School)
This will be the first meeting of 2 between these two schools this year. I see them playing in Cadiz in the first round of the playoffs. I say Trigg will win 45- 13. -
Caldwell County vs. Heath predictions

I see the winner of this game hosting the other in the first round of the playoffs. I say Heath wins 28-20. -
Paducah Tilghman at Ft. Campbell
buffalo kid replied to buffalo kid's topic in KY Football (High School)
Hard to believe the loser of this game is going to be 1-3. To their credit though, both have played tough non-district schedules. -
Both teams win their first game last week. Could be a great game.
-
Falcons led 35-6 at the half
-
Falcons get a nice win. C.J. Croft passes 12-17 119 yards 2 TD's and runs for 2 more. Troy Turner runs for 103 yards on 10 carries and 1 TD. Also nice job by the Falcon defense after giving up an opening drive touchdown.
-
Fort Campbell should take care of business if they tackle better on defense and not turn the ball over.
-
Looks like another tough road game for the Falcons
