  1. I'm not sure why but my gut tells me NCC wins this game 21-10
  2. Last I looked CTY was an abbreviation for County so I was technically calling then the Tri- County Rebels as you suggest. Any mention of transfers at Boone Cty and it brings out the 2 or 3 members on here who have a rooting interest in the Rebels to circle the wagons once again. Anyway the Rebels, wherever they all come from should be very good. Best in the 9th Region and a Top 5 team in the state IMO.
  3. You are exactly right I suppose. Newport was going to lose by 30 or more regardless.
  4. Hey Dr Draud, maybe next time you should keep your endorsements to yourself.. I know it was enough to cause me to vote for the other guy.
  5. With the news that came out today I would have to disagree with you. The plot has definitely thickened and could have a very adverse effect on a key player or two. Actually though I think Newport is going to get smoked regardless of any outside problems.
  6. In the 9th Region the Tri-Cty Rebels, uh sorry I mean the Boone Cty Rebels are clearly heads above the rest.
  7. Mercer Cty should win this game by at least 3 touchdowns and possibly more, There appears to be something of a cloud hanging over things at Newport with the recent arrest of a teacher and the fallout that may come with it. Wish Newport the best but think this is where the season comes to an end for the Woldcats..
  8. Enberg is getting a little long in the tooth and should probably be dropped down a few notches in the big game pecking order. As for Cross I agree with many of the others on here.. He stinks and always has.
  9. :thumb:  So with all due respect why do we let threads like this continue? I mean how do separate fact from fiction?
  10. Did not see the article that you make reference to but that would be absolutely incorrect if that is what they printed. Dayton has had more then their share of winning seasons and has you suggested had some very strong teams in the past particularily in the 1960's including a State Championshop in 1966 that they celebrated the 40 year anniversary of that title this past season.
  11. :thumb: Yes I realize that they will both be moving up to 2A.
  12. IMO: Kids should be able to transfer anywhere & anytime they want and be able to plays sports for their new school. Your last comment isn't to far from the truth. With the way the KHSAA is running things most kids do transfer and play wherever they want..It is truly unfortunate that this is what we have as our governing body.
  13. I picked a 41-13 NCC victory in the earlier thread and guess I was pretty close to right on this game..Cya HC..Enjoy 2A
  14. So do you think their offense is good enough now to score 41. I guess I gave HC a little to much credit by predicting a NCC victory 41-13..Obviously their offense wasn't that good.. HC, you had a nice season but you just aren't on the level of a Beechwood or NCC as hard as you try..JUst not their and now your off to 2A. Cya..
  15. Understand what you are saying and not sure that this kid is any angel but the mere fact that you would have to go to school each day concerned about adversaries and what they may or may not do to you would seem to me to be enough to allow a kid to transfer. The so called adversary who was expelled last year is apparently back and lets be honest Holmes has an entirely different climate to it then probably any other school in NKY.
  16. For what its worth, yes I have played and coached sports and have stayed very involved with high school, middle school and elementary sports. And OldGuy does bring up just one fact and it is a very valid fact and for the number of people who have seen this situation unfold over the past 4-5 years the fact remains that this entire situation has been a joke to say the least and it only makes the KHSAA look foolish at their total lack of investigative work on this situation and many others. Their decisions are entirely random and more times then not will favor the bigger more affluent schools (Public and Private)and schools like Gallatin Cty come out on the short end of the stick. As to your last comment regarding the clearing of a gym at elementary school athletic events, I find this behavior reprehensible and parents who stoop to this type of behavior should be arrested and permanantly banned from all future athletic events.
  17. I would agree that the child needs to be happy but most kids are happy when they are at a school they have attended for a number of years and had the same group of friends in the their local community. It seems to me that more times then not its mom and dad who are the ones who are unhappy and start speaking for their kids and saying they are unhappy. Can't say I have ever heard a kid say I'm unhappy at school A and want to go to school B unless they have been coached to say such a thing..Again it is only a matter of time before parents ruin high school sports much the way they are ruining youth sports..IMO..
  18. :thumb: You are absolutely correct, I have made up my mind just as you have and there isn't anything that either of us will say or do to change the others minds so lets just let it go. Good luck to you and yours..
  19. I don't blame Nell Fookes at all. Great coach.. I blame parents entirely.. You know in not a single one of these threads on topics like this do I see where the kid transfered because they thought he/she would get a better education.. It is all about sports and that dear parents is what is wrong with high school athletics these days..
  20. As long as the rules are followed there isn't much I can say but I don't have to like it or agree with it.. Having watched this situation over the course of a few years it has become something of a comedy to many of us.. Just hate to see parents shop kids around like free agents.. No more loyalty to School, community or friends anymore is there? Just give me what I want for my kid now and the heck with the rest of it..
  21. If Behrens at Boone is eligibile to play after 3 schools in 4 years then so should this kid..From what I understand this kid feared going to school each day at Holmes. That might be one of those exceptions that the KHSAA supposedly takes under consideration. What did the KHSAA consider in the Behrens case? That her father might have to sit in traffic about 15 minutes longer..
  22. Since I know that you are close to the Boone Cty situation I know that in no way will you agree with much if anything I have to say but quite honestly I think situations such as the Behrens TRANSFERS and many others need to be investigated far more thoroughly then they are by the KHSAA. MY beef is more with the KHSAA and how they enforce or better yet don't enforce the rules they have on the books. All the transfering and such is out of control and I blame over-zealous parents for the entire mess.
  23. You may well be right but after seeing HC on a couple of ocassions now I still question the abilities of HC's head coach and his staff. They are huge this year and of course they should dominate teams like Dayton, Bellevue and Ludlow this year but when it comes to NewCath and Beechwood Koz is in way over his head..I know they beat them earlier in the year but at the time NCC wasn't playing very well and they made a number of turnovers to give HC the game..So every dog has its day and I believe the HC dog will be put to sleep after fridays game.
