  1. Lou Holtz was the master at doing the same thing.
  2. Wow, like CovCath has really been a state basketball power.
  3. Oh I see, in other words your just spoutin off about nothing then.
  4. Are you the guy that can actual sign his name on the dotted line to get it done?
  5. How many Johnson Central games have you actually watched in person the last 3 years, Landshark?
  6. Facts?, what do facts have to do with what happens on the field this friday night? Facts are for a bunch of fat old men that are never wazzes, or never will bee's.
  7. What I really dont understand is why you or any one else would waste the first minute worring about anything that westsider had to say. Most of you guys are familiar with some of these expert sportswriters that know all about the game, can tell everyone else what they are doing wrong, are always right on everything , yet never played the game. Westsider reminds me of one of those type of guys. Sort of the "Max Mercy" of bluegrasspreps. He sits behind his computer and never sees 99% of the teams he is an expert on. He is never going to say anything good about Johnson Central anyways, so why worry about it.
  8.
  9. I'm just going to throw my 2 cents in on the whole deal. For the most part some of our own JC fans while thinking they are supporting the Eagles have really done nothing more than make themselves look like complete idiots and have only in my opinion embarrassed the whole school system by constantly rattling on and on and on about mostly nothing. xyience you have done far more damage to the Golden Eagles this whole season than you could ever have dreamed of helping them. Hey for one time act like you have traveled out of the hollow before. Where in the heck do you come up with all the garbage you post on here? Again in my opinion you have only embarrassed yourself and all of Johnson Central, the players , and particularly Coach Matney this whole season long. Eagle01 , you started out good with sensible posts, but the more and more I read I have come to the conclusion that you are coming down with a bad case of xyience-itis. Man I hate to get on to our own fans but I swear I wish some of you guys would just shut up for awhile. Even if we haven't been there before, as least act like we have been there before. I can see why people state wide might think we are nothing but a bunch of nuts. Come on guys tone it down, you are not helping anything. And to everyone else reading these threads away from here, I promise that we do have a few fans that have a little sense. I swear we do!!!!
  10. Yeah that's about what I would expect. That post makes just about as much sense as everything else you have tried to sugarcoat and spin around about the subject. Nice job.
  11. Man O Man you just wont let it die, will you? I never once said that no player should not attend Morehead. I said that I can see it not being an attractive place to choose for a top notch recruit. And the only other thing I said is that I thought that the coaching staff had done a poor job in recruiting. Go back and reread before you get so high and mighty. But if I did say what you said I said, I have every right to state what I feel about the subject. Are you a monitor now that can tell everyone what they should be able to state an opinion on and what they cannot? And one more thing , just because you may personally like someone on the staff does not mean you have the right to criticize me for stating what my opinion is. I guarantee that most of the John Q Public of the baseball world dont see things much different than I may see it. Doesn't it seem strange to you that 2 Hall of Fame Morehead players as well as two Kentucky Hall of Fame coaches would discourage their own players from attending Morehead? I guess your calling them idiots too? Heck, you even got whom I presume to be a Morehead coach getting on here and stating that things are changing. If it was not broken to begin with then why would you admit that it's changing? I have tried to be civil in this discussion, but the "Know all horse" comment is uncalled for, and that long drink of reality that you imply that I need a drink of can be realized in the records of Morehead State for the last 12 years. How's that for a drink of reality? I very rarely ever post on here, but I do have an opinion on this subject, but I will say that since you want to get into the know-it-all accusations then I think we can look no further than your mutitude of expert opinions that you offer on here on anything that has to do with a baseball to see who is always riding the know all horse. Did God make you the knower of all knowledge on just about every subject that gets posted about baseball? It certainly sometimes appears that he did or you just plain think he did. I just offered my opinion on something, and that is all. I certainly didn't bring you into this as it was you that just cant either ignore what I say and let it die, or your ego just wont let not have the last word. If I have offended one of your buddies on the staff or anyone that is on the roster I would presume that they are all big boys by now and they are all very more than capable of either defending themselves or just plain ignoring whatever it is that I have to say. I really dont think that they are in desperate need of a knight in shining armour to come to their defense. I offered a few posts back to just let it die. How about it ? You are the very bird responsible for the thread continuing in the direction it is going.
  12. Well then good luck to you coach. With you mentioning the fact that you are admitting changes are taking place tends to validate a lot of what I have said. Hey coach also tell that to a lot of some of the extremely good local kids that have been snubbed by Morehead State and had to unjustly travel away to play .
  13. No need to comment on the ones, because two of three that I mentioned were 4.0 students and model citizens in their community. Am I correct on that STRIKE3 ? Funny that Steve Hamilton and Sonny Allen could make Morehead a regional powerhouse in their days , with a lot of local talent. I would say the sense of uncertainty among some parents might lie more into the rumors of a change in regime for the past several years. I think that the job was offered to a former player that has been highly successful in the high school ranks a couple of years ago and it was turned down, but that's really not been that much of a secret. I think it's a sad state of affairs when you have had both former coaches of Paintsville and Johnson Central who are currently in the Morehead State Hall of Fame as players advise their own high school players to consider other options rather than to attend Morehead to play baseball. Morehead also has the lowest tuition rate among all the D1 schools in Kentucky and some of the other reasons you are mentioning such as what has happened in football or basketball effecting baseball has no bearing whatsoever on the baseball program. Dont mean to offend you or anyone else STRIKE3 because obviously some one from the Morehead staff has spoken kindly to you at one time or another and I can understand you defending someone in that respect, but the plain truth and facts are the plain truth and facts. I never once myself said that anybody wasn't a nice guy, I dont know any of them personally. Now if you would decide not to further discredit what I say, I will gladly let the subject die and let the thread get back on course.
  14. That was just the point I was trying to make. They are not attractive to most top notch players when it comes to recruiting. I'm not sure that they are able to evaluate talent very well anyways with the way they have handled some of the very good local players that did want to go there. Heath Castle was not good enough for them and then he became the University of Kentucky's ace as a junior and ended up being drafted 3 straight years . Jeremy Slone and Chas Harmon wasn't good enough in their mind either. Then you look at some of the other guys that they recruit and sign. It's hard to figure out. Morehead's baseball team I think still plays in the OVC. They did not loose any scholarships in baseball. They still have the same amount of scholarships to offer that every other D1 college in the United States has to offer, so I dont understand how what has happened in other sports has had an effect on the baseball program.
  15. Yeah they won a grand total of 13 games against D1 competition last year. Morehead at one time was a very good baseball school when Steve Hamilton was there.Surely you cannot deny that they have been laughable since their current head coach took over. Baseball America two or three years ago rated them as the 2nd worst D1 baseball program in America.
  16. There are much better options than Morehead in Kentucky. You probably would not have been too happy after you got there, by hearing players talk that have played there under the current staff. I think their record pretty well speaks for itself. I cant believe that the Morehead administration keeps letting them turn Morehead into a shambles.
  17. I dont mean to sound like a smart alleck, but I cant see many top flight prospects wanting to go to Morehead until there are some changes made there.
  18. Where did you come up with all of your names from Scribe? Half of these guys dont even play in the positions that you have them in. Some are not even the best at their position even in their own district. Grimm from Paintsville is also a LHP.
  19. Dont have any kind of stats for Justin Blanton of Johnson Central but I would think that he would have to be in there somewhere in the middle infield. He was also maybe the best pitcher in the 15th region this year as well as maybe one of the best all around players east of Lexington.
  20. Like there's an umpire in the 15th region capable of evaluating talent, good or bad. Especially the one that made this post!!!
  21. Johnson Central beats Betsy Layne 6-0 on a combined no-hitter from Justin Blanton who threw the first 5 innings and followed up by Mike Conley the last two innings. Blanton also went 3 for 4 from the plate.
  22. Your right talent can't be taught. Right along with hustle and playing with heart.
  23. Good Post:thumb: I'd say they were all surprised he passed the ball. I thought he was tryin to get on the and1 mix tape or something. He's an unbelievable talent there is no questioning that. Best thing be for him to goto a junior college for a year, then move on to somewhere else.
  24. I get your drift sadly...are they still rotating the refs?
