A good coach will build his season around the strengths of his current team, not try to change a player or players to fit the coaches system. He has to show that he has confidence in his players or the players will lack confidence.

Williams is good. But the best? Maybe. Boyd has some nice pitching.

It's Fraley , hands down. He's done a lot with such a young team. He's an intense coach who gets the kids to put it all on the line. Coaches are suppose to build their players confidence. If a coach doesn't have confidence in a player, how is the player going to have confidence in himself. Can't wait to coach Fraley take his team to bigger things in the future.

He rolled before he called time. Explain the intentional foul to me, 2 players pushing each other.

Sparks was fouled. No doubt about it. The intentional foul was just 2 players trying to get position. Terrible call. Raceland didn't help themselves by only hitting 6-13 from the free throw line. Season over, Raceland finished the season losing 7 of 8. What a slump. I feel for the seniors whose high school athletic careers are over. Thank goodness for baseball season. It couldnt had come quick enough.

Devils better not overlook. Look what happened to Morgan.

You are right . Dodd should had started all his seniors. Raceland has 6 seniors. 5 started . The 6th senior(Osborn), has started all year and offered his starting slot to another senior. I think the Russell coaches could learn something about class from this young man. Not only did Russell not start all their seniors, but 2 of the 4 never saw any game time. :irked: Coaches should realize that the game is about the players, not the coaches. Maybe they should think about how they would feel if the shoe was on the other foot.

Rams have to believe. If not, then why even play. Raceland may lose, but they will give it their all.

Russell's coaching blew it. Why do coaches take the air out of the ball with the lead so early. Devils were up 8 with 5 minutes to go. They didnt score again until the Vanhoose 3 with about 5 seconds to go. Ashland wanted it more and went and got it.

Getting close to districts. What does your team have to do to advance? Raceland needs to protect the ball and not give Devils any second shots. Russell manhandled Rams last time they played, but I think Raceland can win. Raceland will need to approach this game the same way they did against Elliott . Stop their fast break. Tolliver should be able to get into the lane without Clark pressing him. If he can finish his drives or kick it out to the open shooters (and shots are made ) , Rams have a very good chance.

Was hoping the Rams could right the ship before districts. Morgan is as good as advertised. Raceland's Osborn showed class in letting another senior start in his place for senior night. He will be missed next year. Hopefully the Rams can fix their shooting woes before Tuesday.

Rams hit the ball, but just to the defense. Taylor(Russell pitcher) was always hard for Rams to hit. He's gone. I think Tolliver had 1 hit and Darby 1 in last years game.

Raceland will have some of their lineup already determined. But may still be some spots. Tolliver-SS , Miller-CF, Darby-C , Phillips-P,OF , Grizzle-P,OF, Reynolds-P,1B, Martin-2b , Either Morris(also a P) or Deskins at 3B. Goble will play some outfield too. Rams also have some good young talent that could take some spots if older guys flounder. Raceland baseball is looking good. But we do need another coach, (our pitching coach left this winter).

TBF, do you know what the free throw difference was in this game? I'm sure it was way in favor of Rebels. Sparks was on bench with 2 fouls before even playing 2 minutes. Raceland got sloppy with the ball in 4th. Some of it had to do with AC's getting by with pushing.

Rams pulled out a gutsy effort tonight , playing without big guy Sparks. Bellevue is a big team. Rams really took care of the ball. Tolliver had a huge game. :dancingpa

Ashland wins easily. Raceland beat Pikeville at Pikeville.

Both teams played man to man.

There is no better time than baseball season.

Hey, coaches should be happy if a player gets a little mad about playing time. Who wants a player who doesnt care if he plays. If a player is unhappy it's not a problem unless the player lets it become one. All players have to make the most of the time they get on the floor and support their teammates while on the bench. ALL the Ram players support each other. They are a TEAM , and will pull together for their run at a district title. So, for any Ram who reads here, stay strong with each other.....
