Magoffin County and Pike County Central will match up on Tuesday at the Eastern Kentucky Expo center for the 15th Region Championship. The two teams have not met this year which was the scenario last season when Pike Central upset Magoffin in the first round of the regional tournament. Magoffin was the clear favorite to win the 15th last year and it seems to be the cast again this season. However, Pike Central has been playing well as of late with back to back wins over Prestonsburg and Shelby Valley. Magoffin has looked strong in both of their outings coming off an impressive 15 point win against Belfry. Will we see a repeat of last year's game or will Magoffin earn their first trip to the Girl's Sweet 16? I'm going with the latter. Magoffin 78 Pike Central 65

They will play Pike Central on Tuesday @ 7:00 P.M.

Magoffin started out strong, jumping out to an early double digit lead. Belfry hung around pretty much the entire game and made a nice run towards the end but Magoffin was too much. Nice game by Ashley Jade Howard and Brittany Manns for the Lady Hornets. Deskins also had a good game for the Lady Pirates. If I am not mistaken this is the first time Magoffin will be playing in the regional championship.

This one should be an entertaining match-up. The last game went down to the last minutes with Magoffin coming out on top. It's hard to tell which one of these teams has the real advantage. I think we could see a repeat from their last game. The deciding factor in this one will be how well Magoffin handles their nerves. If Magoffin plays like they did against East Ridge, I think they should come out on top but not by much. Magoffin 65 Belfry 61

If Magoffin plays to the best of their ability I think they are capable of winning it. However, as we seen last year, they tend to have bad games come tournament time. I really don't understand why the teams are paired the way they are. Wouldn't it make sense to put Magoffin and Belfry on opposite sides of the bracket?

Magoffin seems to have the momentum coming off some nice wins as of late but I don't think it's enough to carry them for another win. Should be a good game though. Magoffin 72 Paintsville 84

They do indeed have a good bunch of kids coming up from the middle school but I just don't believe the administration will put enough, if any, support into the program. The future of Magoffin county football doesn't look bright which is very sad for the kid's sake. I hope they can work something out.
