The Devil's special team play needs to step-up this week. Punt returns especially. Mental/fundamental mistakes can kill you at this juncture in the playoffs. Covering on-side kicks, protecting the football at all times; all of the little things have to be executed w/o error. I look for Russell to come out and play another physical game. The play calling these last couple of games has been superb. Hope the trend continues and we move on to the next level. Russell 28 Mercer Co. 17 :devil:

Has Mercer Co. always been the "Scotties"? Is that the dog or some celtic moniker?

Great game Devils! Saw the Henry County tour bus on the side of the road in Raceland this morning... Did their bus breakdown after leaving "The Hank"? That would be adding insult to injury on a Friday nite after losing.

Okay AT41, I stand corrected. I guess I was counting the two "official games" of the season as the Varsity and Kiwanis Bowl. JV games to me are somewhat less than official as it often times is the case that there is no announcer, sparse attendance, no open concession stand. We'll give you guys the JV victory each year and settle for the Varsity and K Bowl wins. :devil:

Russell gets the sweep! Entertaining game and congratulations to both teams. Russell was opportunistic and made big plays when they had to. Putnam Stadium is a great venue for football and it's even better when you can walk out of there with the "W". :devil:
