  1. I went back and read the Paintsville vs. Evarts thread. I'm pretty sure he had 4 means of scoring TD's. I originally posted after the game that he threw for 4, ran for 4, returned an interception for one and returned a punt for one. So I'd believe that's how it was, but I've been wrong before.
  2. Pikeville, as they mercied Sheldon Clark by a score of 11-1.
  3. Grimm went the distance for Paintsville to get the win, only giving up 2 hits. I think it was Little that started for Allen Central and he pitched 4 innings. Paintsville hit the ball decently well again today. Game wasn't real exciting and it definitely wasn't good baseball weather. Congrats to the Tigers and Coach Howard. Keep playing hard boys, Good Luck in the finals.

  6. Congrats to the Eagles, Good luck at Rupp make the 15th proud. Valley keep your heads up, you guys played well it was anyone's game and region for that matter. There is bright future for both schools.
  7. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't all 2 seeds left?? Congrats SV, but got to say bring it home Eagles. Tigers keep your heads up, you all fought back being down by quite a bit most of the game. Looks like it's time to get the bats out in Tigerland.
  8. From my understanding many senior to be players receive these offers as well.
  9. Yeah it may be a great experience but do the kids actually benefit from it like they would a camp??? I mean the learning experience coupled with the possibility of being noticed by scouts.
  10. I've known of many people receiving information on and being selected to play in it but not known of anyone actually going. I do remember a few years back a player from Paintsville did some fund raising to get to go, but I don't think he actually went to be honest with you. I do know it cost a mint to participate.
  11. Pugh is one of the top defensive players in the region.
  12. Might want to consider this one, they put two TE's on All-American team this year.
  13. You're the only one who has came close to my thoughts on the game. Johnson County has a lot to be proud of at both schools. Here you have two teams, who are heated rivals and haven't met their full potential this season. Although heated rivals, I was a witness to one of the cleanest games in history. Both teams fought hard, and had a shot at the game late in the fourth. JC hit free throws down the stretch to put this one away. The refs were pretty much non existent all night, they let the kids play. Although they let the kids play, the kids played tough but not too aggressive. I think in the 4th both teams combined had 6 or 7 fouls. I have to commend Coach Starnes on the job he did coaching. I know someone mentioned earlier that he coached to win, I think they were referring to how he called every offensive play and a lot of Johnson Central's points came off of running these plays. Rice had a great game and exploited Paintsville's weaknesses. Not only do I have to compliment the players, coaches and refs but also the fans. The fans from both schools kept it clean and weren't chanting anything derogatory about players or teams. Not only do both of these schools excell in their districts in all sports but they also have a lot to be proud in the academic department. Both score high on testing and have great teachers. There's just a lot to be proud of in Johnson County. Congrats to Johnson Central on their win. Tigers keep your heads up, you played hard and I hope you continue to do so.
  14. Paintsville wins Tiger Hoops Classic. No stats, maybe someone else can fill those in for us. Congrats to the coaching staff and the players!!!
  15. Oh not arguing, and not saying he won't make a good MLB. I just didn't know if it was a for sure thing or if someone was speculating. Not only that but I've thought Mayo was a good SS for the last 2-3 years. MLB and safety are two totally different positions, I can't imagine him having to adjust to being the full-time QB as well as MLB. Not saying it isn't possible, because I'm sure he could do it.
  16. If I could remember the scores, I'd call them in. No offense but I've heard this from more than you. People act like BMR is trying to hide something, or get away with two loses. Paintsville knows they lost, BMR knows they lost, heck the KHSAA probably knows they lost.
  17. Mayo has played safety most of his career, are they moving him 2 LB?? Those 3 right there are some quick backers. Paintsville returns a good one in Kyle Sublett, he was hurt most of this season. If he can stay healthy next season, I look for him to have a big year.
  18. Just curious, was it an open ballot or did it have certain names that they picked from. Hopefully someone will know, I was just wondering how they went about it. I noticed that the program this year did not have a season long highlight film and also did not include honorable mention.
  19. I just know he played LB but it may have said that. I figured I'd just point that out, it's no big deal.
  20. Yes they arrived safely, they played tonight. Don't know if they won or lost.
  21. My bad midee, either I was informed wrongly which is very quite possible or that is a typo. I'd say the first is probably the case.
  22. Daniel Pugh tied Don Gullett's state record for most TD's in a game with 10.
  23. Going to have to replace offensive and defensive lines, that all should start now with kids getting in the weightroom. Along with a few key skill guys as well but I've a few more players who didn't play this season are going to the gridiron next year.
  24. I can see where you're coming from but I'd do it a little differently. Have a large school overall state champ and a small school overall state champ. You match up a 1A team and 4A team, in the majority 4A is still going to beat on them badly. So just have 3A and 4A state champs play and 1A and 2A play.
