  1. I know the KC faithful didn't think he was past the line. I watched the tape, and it was the right call. The LOS was the North Laurel 8, and he let the pass go at the 7. It was a GREAT play by Barger, he was just 1 yard to far down field. But it was a tremendous throw and should show the Panther's that they have a very solid QB for the next 2 years and 8+ games who will just get better and better.

Did you notice if he was past the line when he threw the shovel pass a couple of plays earlier?

  2. If this is true, playing time for the home grown guards might be hard to come by. Haven already gotten 2 projected backcourt starters from NL (Huff and Gilbert), add to the mix Eric Wright as a solid senior guard, will there be any playing time available for the SL kids that have come up in the program like Smith and Sizemore? Depth is good if a coach uses it, but, if not, this could cause some problems. Trust me, I've seen in happen.

  3. Not sure how that could be misleading, they had over 40 total plays, the receivers were always covered and Muse being forced to run out of the pocket. Out of 40 plays, completing only 1 pass is a credit to the defense. You can't say that out of 40 some plays Hines never had the opportunity to call more passes, and if he didn't he obviously should've tried. What is a passing situation? IMO any down could be a passing or running situation.

Listen, I'm pretty sure we're on the same side here. I agree that our db's did an excellent job. You've got me curious, how many pass plays did PC run?

  4. This was a dandy to watch. Neither defense had much success stopping their opponents offense. It's my opinion that PC was not "ready" for this one. I think they thought they'd win it easily. When NL showed they could play with PC, PC appeared to be a bit frustrated, and got some silly penalties that cost them dearly.

Congrats to Coach Larkey and his NL team. Good luck to both teams in the remainder of their seasons.

  5. Just curious, and not trying to stir here, but who makes up this 40% in the last few years. Gilbert I know of.............but who else from the starting lineups the last few years?? Watkins came from Clay Co. in the 7th grade so he wouldnt sit out. Huff didnt start. Fields from the championship team but lets not forget he came from Clay to South first, then to North.

I do however think this rule will stop the going back and forth as the changing of schools goes on both ways. I know South has gotten a few transfers from North the last couple of years and North has landed a few from South the last 2-3 years.

I wonder if this last incident with the little league will carry over to the high schools.............Primary residence?

I was alluding to this upcoming year's starting lineup. Gilbert and Huff both played at North before transferring to South.

  6. Don't you think the bigger part of it is so the kid could ultimately go to SLMS and SLHS? Good Lord, if I had a nickel for all the crazy stories I heard about movement back and forth between the NL and SL districts ...

Nope, his father has applied for a job coaching basketball at North Middle. Go figure.

  7. Pretty amazing that someone would go through the charade of renting an office/ apartment in another part of town just to get their 11-12 year old eligible to play in a different league. I was told that one of the parents even changed their address on their drivers license to perpetuate the myth. I think they did everything BUT move.

As a resident of Laurel County, I am very disappointed with the all of the adults involved in this. Parents, league officials, board members, all of them knew what was going on, and just turned their heads. I even told a board member that it would blow up on them eventually, and it did. Yet again, adults ruining a kids game.

  8. Stay in downtown Cincy, not in Covington. Westin, Hyatt, and Millenium are all good choices. For dinner I'd consider Jeff Ruby's (steak), Benihana (fun), or Boathouse (ribs and great sports atmosphere). Your kid will have a blast. Also, you can hit the aquarium in Newport for a couple of hours the morning of the game. A trip that you and your boy cill always remember. You also may want to check if you can tour the stadium before the game.

  9. Everyone in America knew that he was coming back. He had a last-second change-of-heart this morning.

I don't believe this one bit.

I think people need to quit making declarations as facts when all they're doing is reading other peoples opinions on blogs and web pages.

Reading a lot of people's opinions on a subject doesn't necessarily make you an expert, or insider on the subject.
