  2. Hopefully some of you Louisville folks can clarify who the better team has been over the past 15 yrs. I work with a guy who grew up in Indiana, played at Butler and was trying to argue with me that St. X is a better overall program than Trinity. I don't know the history but maybe some of you can help me out here.

If two non-alumni's are arguing over which school has had the best program over the last 15 years, I can only imagine what it would be like between alumni. :argue:

  3. St. X is coming off a not so stellar first half, followed up by a pretty good second half, to get the victory over Ballard. Now it's their second home game on the new field. What is Oldham County like this year. I know in the last ten years they have had some really good teams.

    Thoughts?

    Predictions?

Really? I thought Saint Xavier fans though all but one team from "that other district" was worth anything.

    I say X rolls by 4 td's.

  4. No touchiness here...just amazed at how the MG boulder that is carried around on the shoulders of so many "experts" doesn't cause severe back problems.

Personally knowing the man very well as I do, I am 100% confident that he finds great enjoyment and personal satisfaction in the fact that his words are so meaningful to so many "informed" individuals aka critics so I guess in reality-he wins. As for the "tightness"...how are you so sure that Coach G's expertise doesn't deserve the credit for removing the player's (understandable) butterflies and leading the Tigers to victory? Newsflash....HS kids get nervous-especially under extreme conditions like last night.

Well, now Mike doesn't have to worry about losing first. No excuses now, I guess. :jump:

  5. It never ceases to amaze me how every word that comes out of Coach's mouth is scrutinized and twisted to somehow becoming a negative according to a few.

:creepy: Touchy touchy. If Mike was serious, could it not explain the way the team played for 3 quarters? Very tight.

  6. "We told all the coaches at all the levels: Pity the first team that loses the first game here," Glaser said.

Come on Mike, it's going to happen eventually. I'm sure he had to have a big smile on his face when he said this (I hope). That's not the kind of pressure you want on the kids or coaches.

  7. Just talked to the Athletic Office, and as of 2:00 P.M. there has been no change in the 7:30 starting time. They will begin continuous monitoring of the field temperature at 6:30, and take whatever action deemed appropriate at that time.

With the turf field, it's going to be hot hot hot. Of course with the wind blowing, that will make a difference. But still...
