I mean, come on! Praying with a broom for pete's sake!!!
It is nearly halloween right?

Head Coach: Dennis Lampley
Off Cord: Bob Beatty
Def Cord: Mike Glaser
I would switch Coaches Lampley and Glaser.

It was DJ last week...i would look for that again....side note...using a tremendous athlete like DJ is huge in that once he snaps he can get down field in a hurry and make a play...very big, IMO.
Correct! The center usually gets down field very quickly on punts any way. Put DJ in the role, and the opponent should have 0 punt return yards.

Does anyone know if the alumni golf event was held this year?

Apparently RunFirst didn't read your post. I'd hate to see this thread have to be closed on game day. :irked:
Sorry, I started at the top and worked down. :thumb:

I agree with you. I had no idea the broom was special to the Saint Xavier high school. Most people have no idea about what the broom represents. After the game, I would anticipate that very few, less than 2% of those in attendance, see a team celebrating with a broom etc..Just a point of clarification...All the Trinity players, coaches and most of the fans that stuck around to witness the drubbing saw the players sweeping the turf in a taunting fashion at the Trinity players.
This is due in part to the cahas on the field with both teams. I would also anticipate that if the CJ had not published the photo a few years ago, We would not be talking about this now.....Actually, if the players did not taunt the Trinity players with the broom after the game, we would not be discussing it.
I think it is perfectly normal and a good thing for EITHER team to do this.I strongly disagree, and that's OK.
Trinity and Saint Xavier do not play for a broom to use in a taunting fashion after the game.Kinda like the keg of nales.... Its something you play for....
IMO, the memories and camaraderie building should not be created by taunting the opposing team.If Im a player and it builds comradrie among my fellow players, as well as, creating great memories, then Im in favor of it. Again, fair for both sides......Have fun tonight. Good luck to both teams! :thumb:

I agree the brooms might have been a little much and we all know Trinity coaches have total control over all players.
They are all just kids give them a break, both sides included.
Go Tigers
I would hope that if any coach sees this happening, they would take immediate actions to stop the taunting.
-
My goodness, I anticipated Saint Xavier fans agreeing with me that allowing a broom to be used as a vehicle for taunting would be wrong and below the level Coach Glaser and his staff aim to achieve. So you really think allowing Saint Xavier players to taunt Trinity players on the field is acceptable? OK, I guess I have a different point of view. Have a great time at the game.

Can they get out the brooms Friday night?
I hope the Saint Xavier coaches have more control over their players should the varsity Tigers win tonight. The last time Saint Xavier pulled the regular season sweep, I thought allowing the players to run around the field with brooms was done in very bad taste. This rivalry should be above those types of childish antics. They should celebrate, but do it with class.
Hopefully this will not be an issue tonight.

I'm picking X for no other good reason than that's where my loyalty lies.
That's as good a reason as any in this game. :thumb:

It wasn't Jody.

Thanks for the heads up! This is usually a fun listening experience.

Last night on Fox 9 I noticed many of the Saint Xavier players mentioned last year's rain shortened game as a major motivational factor (retribution, closure, etc.). This will be two "revenge" Trinity games in a row for them.

Could a Tiger fan tell us how many starters from this year's team played in last year's game?
- Will Saint Xavier’s feeling that they need to prove something have any effect in this game?

How are you so sure?
History tells us that (no more than about 28 points from Trinity in the game lately). Plus this may be Saint Xavier's best defense in several years, and they are ranked #1 in the state in multiple polls (both in state and national). They give up an averaging of 9 points per game and 66 yards rushing. Trinity has problems when they cannot run the ball, and this Saint Xavier team seems to have a run stuffing defense this year. Timmy and the O-line will need to pull out all the stops to have yardage Friday night. :sssh:

I'd say it is definately in the top 3, but I agree that it doesn't compare to T/X. The only reason you could argue that it is as big is because of the fact that T has pretty much dominated the last few years.
Not really. Saint Xavier has won several the past few years.

Will Stein of Trinity through 4 games:

You think UL finishes better or worse than 5-7?
4 and 8 sounds about right.
-
I dont think so. But it was nice knowing the UK dealt the first knockout blow to UL's season! :ylsuper:
Is it possible to have more than one knockout blow? And BTW - MTSU get's credit for that any way.

You take away 3 or 4 plays for X....we got OT or a manual win
Excuses?
-
Awww... It was very good, thanks for asking. You are really caring.

Wes is a beast. I seriously hope his is getting some attention from top college programs. The kid can do it all.
Stein had a nice night.

I think it is different, and I now understand why. There is no love between Manual and Saint Xavier/Trinity for many reasons. And while Saint Xavier and Trinity are tremendous rivals, hatred is a little extreme for most (but not all) fans from both sides.

Manual - 13

Does putting an open umbrella over your head when it's not rain = to 7 years bad luck? Something like that, right?
