Does anyone remember who the Crusaders beat in 2003?
-
The only thing I can say for Beechwod that looks positive in the future is that the JV team seems to be pretty good at Beechwood. They had a nice frosh team last year.
-
Predictions? Big first round All A Classic game at Newport. Winner meets with NCC on Wednesday. St. Henry isn't big but have some young talent in Brandon Lenhof and Ben Kuebbing. Crusaders like to shoot the 3pter but live and die by that. Ludlow is suprisingly much bigger than the Crusaders this year and have the twin towers inside. Thoughts?
-
Are those two players originally from the Beechwood school district?
No. I believe both are paying out of district fees.
-
Owensboro Cath is the best All A school I have seen this year. Not very deep though. Good shooters. Good big man. Great Defensive Unit. They are the team to watch.

Herald is a pretty str8 up guy, been in the bizness for many years so I doubt there are any sour grapes. I think he has taken that Beechwood program and really put them on the map.....
I'm not a fan of Herald at all. Seems to me he likes a lot of cheese with all that wine. (On the court and off.) I think Michael Romes and Chad Moore have really been the ones who have put the Beechwood basketball program back on the map.

It's arguable of course. But Brett's height and speed is unmatched.
I know Brett well, he is a player. But if you've seen TJ play then you know that its not arguable. Not even close. TJ is possibly the best player in the region. Brett could have played this year and he wouldn't have been a top 20 player in the region.

I'll be there.

Here is a copy of the bracket so everyone can see.

This might be the most equal All A Tourny in the past that I can remember. The feild is very even and many teams have a chance to if not win, at least pull some upsets.
-
Comments are welcome, but lets end this discussion for good.
-
The brackets seem to have alot of competition early. I like NCC because they get the privelege of the first round bye. That could really help. They truthfully should only have to beat st. henry or ludlow to get to the finals.

Its money.
He rarely misses that shot. Thats same shot seems to be automatic for Ben Kuebbing and Ben Kolkmeier of St. Henry. Why is that spot so sweet for shooters?
-
Thanks JustJim. That makes sense.

After pondering about this for a night. I came to the same conclusion that Neerfan did. I will check will coach faust or coach hicks and see if they know how the tourny will be set up.
Either way, however its set up the top 4 teams (St. Henry, Boone, Ryle, Conner) are very evenly matched this season. #4 is probably just as good as #1??? Right???
Finally, If St. Henry does get the #1 seed they have more than just that going for them. The 33rd District Tourny is held at SHDHS this year.
-
So #1 would then play #2 in for the semis? Odd!!!
-
How is the 33rd Tourny set up now that there is only 5 teams? Is this correct
# 1. Gets BYE and plays winner of 3 and 4 seeds
#2. Plays Heritage
#3. Plays #4
#4. Plays #3
This can't be right. It would be better to be the #2 seed.

Still no stats?

Kevin Lubrano from Dixie is having a solid season. I am not sure of his stats, but he has been putting up some impressive numbers recently. Are juniors allowed to receive this award?
Who is he? I'm a huge 9th Region fan and I don't even know of this kid. He's not even in the top 30 players in the region.
-
Good win for HC. Didn't see the game, just saw highlights on WKYT. I feel Lafayette is probably a little overrated.

This thread has already been started.

BTW, we need to give some love to Bo. He played under control. No ugly TOs. Strong D.
If CCH has ANY thoughts on winning the 9th, Bo has to play well on both ends of the floor.
Bo did play well. Much more calm than in the past. I alos like the play Landrum gave off the bench. He's a great assest for a team who needs some scoring from the bench.
Why didn't we see Cahill last night? Is he hurt still? He could have been a big asset last night.

Tim played a good game. He told me he knew he was going to have to step up because they were going to try to shut down Todd and that he did. At first he worried me and I thought he might be trying to force things. When he calmed down the game came to him and he did very well. He struggled at the FT line but I don't think thats going to become a problem, just couldn't find his stoke. He'll be fine there.
Did anybody else's heart stop when Tim took a couple hard spills? They can't afford to lose him to injury again.

Brossart has to be a favorite in the bottom bracket. They have a really nice squad and this maybe there year with the lucky draw.
