  1. I just watched Holmes and CCH tonight down at the 5/3 Classic. Holmes won big vs. Henderson Co. and CCH lost to Owensboro Cath. Here are my thoughts on the two teams prospects.

    1. Greg Rice-2 more inches and he's UC material.

    2. Arnez Hendrson-This kids really only a soph? Are you kidding? D-1 material

    3. Todd Jacobs- The boy can shoot, I know we say he is small for a 2 guard but I think he could play at any level.

    4. Duran Jefferson- Small? Yes, but he is a floor general and does it well. So unselfish its not funny. But my only question is, Can he take over if he has too? He was very impessive though.

    5. Austin Hill- Very athletic and gives everything he has for the 4 quarters. He will be playing somwhere.

  2. To be honest with you the kid who's stock keeps rising is Arnez Henderson from Holmes, he is arguably been the key to what they've done so far this season, with the injury's, foul troubles, and Techincals, he has been the most consistent player on the squad.

Actually this may come as a surprise to many BGP'ers but I went and watched Holmes tonight. I was very impressed with some of the players.

I hadn't seen Arnez this season and I would agree his stock is rising and rising fast. He might be a top 5 player by the end of the season, he's very mature, very quick and jumps like no one else in the 9th.

Greg Rice is back to form and I have always said he has the most upside of any Holmes player. He doesn't miss a shot if its inside the 3pt line and he takes the ball to the whole very well and very strong. After tonight, he's my #1 in the region again. Consistancy and behavior is going to be his key.

Duran Jefferson, same as usual. He finds the open man better than anyone and just directs the Bulldogs as a captain should do. Looked great as usual.

Austin Hill is hurting. Literally. Tonight you could really see he was in pain. Is this a consistant problem? Most impressive was he played through it. He gave 110% and earned my utmost respect. He was hurt and you could tell, but he was diving for balls and hustling more than anyone on the floor. He might be one of my favorite players to watch after tonight. Good game Austin.

Yes that was a CovCath fan and St. Henry Boy giving props to the Dogs from Holmes. They look really tough and I don't know who will beat them in the 5/3.

  3. 32. Nick Simpson-Highlands

This is a kid I whose stock is just going to keep rising. I think he has alot of talent and is learning how to play defense from one of the best teachers. I look for big things from Simpson in the next two years. He has such a quick first step he's hard to guard. He also has a nice jump shot, with work he will be very tough to defend and tough to score on.

  4. 1. Duran Jefferson- Holmes

    2. Todd Jacobs- CovCath

    3. Greg Rice- Holmes

    5. Michael Romes- Beechwood

    6. Tim Tierney- CovCath

    7. Sam Lawson-Dixie

    8. Zack Keirnan -NCC

    9. Jeff Vories-Highlands

    10. Kevin Beuter-NCC

    11. Arnez Henderson-Holmes

    12. Dan Penick-Ludlow

    13. James Glenn-Newport

    14. Travis Huffman-Conner

    15. Austin Hill-Holmes

    16. Scott Gesenhous-NCC

    17. Jimmy Ryan-Holy Cross

    18. Brandon Lenhof- St Henry

    19. Robbie Lykes-Ryle

    20. Alex Curry-Conner

    21. Kurt Bovard-CovCath

    22. Ben Kuebbing-St. Henry

    23. Luke Heil-NCC

    24. Chase King-Ludlow

    25. Josh Keener-Dixie

    26. James Thomas-Newport

    28. Billy Schult-CovCath

    29. Ben Guidugli-Highlands

    30. Nate Edmondson-Holmes

    31. Jeremy Wright-Bellvue

    32. Nick Simpson-Highlands

    33. Michael Young-CovCath

  5. Here's a new top ten, see any changes that need to be made?

    Holmes

    Cov Cath

    Highlands

    New Cath

    Newport

    Holy Cross

    Ludlow

    Dixie

    Beechwood

    Boone county

I good with that except for Boone Co. and Ludlow. I would insert St. Henry before Boone, but the 33rd is wide open so its hard to say. But I like most of yours.

    Holmes

    CovCath

    Highlands

    NCC

    Newport

    HC

    Dixie

    Beechwood

    THe REst

  6. I would make several other changes to your list but we are only a few weeks into the season and I once again realize how much you bored me last year.

I'll leave the all-time teams and all everything teams to you and stud. Or should I say the All-Last 5-10 year teams because that is about as much knowledge as either of you have and honestly that is very limited. :p:D

Sorry we aren't as old as you are BigZig, some of us don't get to choose when we were conceived. Who cares if were younger or older? Why must you make it a topic on every thread? Just sit in your chair and watch TV, quit bugging us about out age.

  7. What are we basing it on? College potential? How he helps his team? Versatility?

I was just basing my rankings on how good the players truthfully are. I wouldn't say all these are right on the mark but I think the best way to look at is looking at the players in the top tier, then the middle tier, and then the bottom teir. This just shows in NKY we might not have the D-1 and D-2 talent that Louisville and Lexington has but we do have alot of talent just a little lower than them.

  8. 1-NCC

    2-Beechwood

    3-HC

    4-Ludlow

    5-St Henry

Can't include Newport or Lloyd in my Class A rankings because based upon KHSAA enrollment numbers they play Class 2A in football. NCC and St Henry fall very close to the cutoff but I will include them for now..

Or were we talking the enrollment numbers used for the Class A Tourney which for whatever reason uses a different formula.

BigZig, Why must you always complicate things? You know what Class A means. We've gone though this before and people like you always have to make this harder than it really is.

  9. Here is a list of players in the 9th Region. I would love to see everyones thoughts on such a large list. Add more players if you please.

    1. Duran Jefferson

    2. Todd Jacobs

    3. Greg Rice

    4. Sam Lawson

    5. Michael Romes

    6. Tim Tierney

    7. Zack Keirnan

    8. Jeff Vories

    9. Kevin Beuter

    10. Arnez Henderson

    11. Dan Penick

    12. James Glenn

    13. Travis Huffman

    14. Scott Gesenhous

    15. Jimmy Ryan

    16. Brandon Lenhof

    17. Robbi Lykes

    18. Alex Curry

    19. Kurt Bovard

    20. Ben Kuebbing

    21. Luke Heil

    22. Chase King

    23. Josh Keener

    24. James Thomas

    25. Nick Steenken

    26. Billy Schult

    27. Nate Edmondson

    28. Ben Guidugli

    29. Jeremy Wright

    30. Nick Simpson

    31. Michael Young

    32. Dane Lantry

  10. If Penick has any DI offers I would like to know who they are. He is vastly overrated and has not done anything for the past 3yrs. to warrant any offers from a DI school or even possibly a DII school like NKU.

I totally agree with Tiger1. What has he proven? He can't even dominate in the 9th region how will he even play D-1. 6-9 is like 7'0" in high school, but almost every team has 4 or 5 6'9" guys in college. A good test for penick this year would be him vs. Kiernan in the All A. If they meet I think keirnan would show the region why 1)Penick is overrated and 2) Keirnan is the best bigman the region has to offer.
