I was wrong the school was Indiana University Southeast. Which is a NAIA D-2 school. Sorry about that. He is still gettting looks from various schools . Centre has given the most attention though.
-
Don't say it to me. I'm not a CCH grad. I can be as bored as any Crusader fan wants to be.
-
I may be wrong on the name of the school. I believe this school is in NKU's Conference. I'll check on it and see what Tim say. I also know Centre is interested in him coming to back up Nesto.

I felt Listerman never gave the Colonels a chance to stop the Rebels. He very rarely had the starting 5 in together. Portions of the starting 5 were always mixed with players coming off the bench. Besides the first 3 or 4 minutes in each half, the first 5 were hardly ever on the floor at the same time.
CCH didn't play great, but a win is a win.
The student section was a little down tonight. It was just a boring game to watch. Give them some slack. They showed up to support, they just got bored like I did.

A good win for the Cru and with that a big one. Very big to get off to a good start in the district expecially against one of the favorites.

St. Henry has a 3 really nice players this year. Not sure on first names.
1. Zumdick-F-Rebounder and goes to the whole well
2. Volz-F-Rebounds well also and is probably the best player they have.
3. Speed-PG-Good ballhandler, shoots FT well. His name fits his style of play.

I thought St. Henry beat HHS JV, but I could be wrong.
-
Shmerge is a real nice player for CCH. Are we only looking at freshman who see JV and Varsity Time?
-
I'm going with CCH by 16 with Tim having a big night since its his BIG 18th B-Day Today.

 Just how many are there that think like you boy? You and one or 2 others whose limited knowledge of the game is constantly called into question. Penick must not have chose you into a pickup game somewhere the way constantly bash him. Sort of pathetic really the way you constantly attack a high school kid trying to get to the next level.
What are even talking about BigZig? Pick up games? C'mon. I said I didn't even want to get into it because you take it so personal. I respect your opinion, why can't you respect mine. I have nothing personal against the kid its just my opinion. You really think I'm the only one or two people that think this way. What about our conversation about Top Prospects. In that thread alone there are a handful of observers who agree with me and have the same opinion. http://www.bluegrasspreps.com/showthread.php?t=84847
I'm not attacking any high school kid. If someone ask for an opinion then I give it. It part of the site. The only people on this site who question my knowledge of high school basketball is you. I have never said I have any knowledge I just have spoke my mind honestly. Seriously though I have nothing against Penick and never have. I just haven't ever been impressed with him. I wish him the best and hope you can understand.

This is what I saw from my view. I was sitting behind CCH's bench. 2nd rown. On the Young and Guidugli incident I first couldn't believe that Young had the gutz to get back up in Guidugli's face. But there were no punches. No pushing. No words really said. I asked Michael after the game what was said he said nobody really said a thing at all. Michael said they were just starring at each other. But at that point in the game it was starting to get out of control and the refs didn't want anything to happen from there on.
As a ref they knew the game would be wild and physical and to add to that that Guidugli could explode at any moment so as soon as something happened it was there job to make sure nothing happened again. And it to their credit it really did work in the second half.
As for Listerman. He is crazy. From the moment of tip off he was in a refs ear all night. He didn't give the refs any slack. From where I was sitting the the incident where he was T'd up went like this. Guidugli pushed Tierney and Tierney went to the floor hard. No foul was called and probably there should have been one called. Then, I saw the ref running up the sideline close to CCH bench and as he passed it, Listerman got up and accidentally bumped him, while yelling at him. It wasn't on purpose and the ref might have over reacted but like I said Listerman had been on him all night already. Listerman was in his coaching box also. The ref possibly was running out of bounds as he came down the court or even right on the sideline. I really don't think the bump was intentional, but I think all 3 Zebras had had enough.
(Tim told me he thought it defenitely was foul on Guidugli, but after the play was over Tim just tapped him on the butt and told "hit me harder next time" and they both laughed. Then he saw coach had got a Technical.)

How does the best team in the state LET a player get 25. Don't you put your #1 defender on him and always help out on D. I could understand giving him 15. But 25 and then 17 from Moore is pretty impressive by the Tigers on a supposably good defensive unit.
-
Did Keirnan get in foul trouble? I would have though him and Guidugli or him and Johnson would have been fun to watch on the inside. All are very strong boys.
-
Romes had 25pts? How does this happen. All South Laurel had to do was watch how CovCath played Romes. It seems Beechwood cut in to 11 late in th fourth quarter. Was the game already over after the 3rd? I'm surprised by the score, but even more surprised that SL didn't know that you have to take one player out of the game to beat Beechwood.
-
I'm not going to go on and on about Penick, because everyone should know how many of us feel about him in the 9th. Overrated.
But there is a kid in the 9th Region that nobody is mentioning. His name is Zack Keirnan. Teams around the state don't know of him. But this kid is a beast. 6'5" and built like a brick wall. He has good shooting skills and can play inside with any player in the state. He's only a Junior and IMO is the best big man in the 9th Region.

WHAT A GAME. So much went on I can't remember it all. I wish I had a tape of this one. It was a classic high school battle. The way it should be. Here are some points I have.
1. Vories is the most underrated player in the region.
2. I think Tierney runs on Energizer.
3. Guidugli should skip the UC Football and go straight to WWE. He's a monster.
4. #44 on JV and he also dressed could be Guidugli's Tag Team Partner. #44 is a soph?
5. Todd is the best shooter I've seen in the state. How was Highlands leaving him open in the first half?
6. Michael Young is silencing his critics. He has played outstanding in his past 5 games. He just has to stay out of foul trouble. (and away from Guidugli, was he crazy)
7. Billy Schult has to shoot the ball. Go to the whole and go strong.
8. Nick Simpson, didn't have his best game. But this kid is going to be a big time player for the Bluebirds in 2007 and 2008.
9. Listermans technical foul might have cost the Colonels the game. What was he thinking? An argument was necessary, but not the reaction he gave.
10. What an amazing atmosphere!! Both students sections just added to the excitement.
11. Will the BlueBirds have a let down game vs. NCC on Sat? Don't look past the Breds.

From St. Henry I would throw in some of the seniors from the 2003 team. Fabiani, Schmidt, Vieth, Szcarnick (sp), Otte and some others. Good players, good team.
Possibly and probably the greatest St. Henry team ever. And every player was great at what he was supposed to do. But really none of them would be on this list. Fabiani possibly, he was the best pg I've ever played with.

To funny!! First of all I think Todd had something like 18 points. It cracks me up when he gets 18 points, plays great defense, has assists, someone can critic his game. I guess he needs to drop 37 points every game to make some people happy. Kurt Bovard, Tim T. and Joe Landrum had good minutes against Beechwood. Where is the front line? There must be some production out of the three inside positions.
Yes, Todd did have 18 but what was he from the field? Does anyone know? Todd should take more shots than anyone else, becuase he's so talented and will make more than anyone else. But he also needs to take good shots. I don't mean to sould like I'm criticizing, Todd is a wonderful player and one of my favorites to watch. I just think he will play much better now that Tim is back and someone can penetrate better than the backup PG's.
-
Be sure to get there 3 hours early for any the games then.
-
Tim will play, and good chance he will start. Michael Young recieved a nice cut above his eye vs. Beechwood and good chance he'll need stitches, but I would think he'll still start.
TJ has to let the game come to him. Looks like he was forcing things at times tonight vs. Beechwood. He had to when Tim was gone, but now that he's back let the game come to him. Let Tim penetrate and dish and TJ himself more open allowing his shots to fall.
-
Prayers from NKYBOY and St. Henry. Josh is a very nice player. Keep us updated.
-
After talking to Tim tonight, there is a good chance he will not play tomorrow if the game is in control by CCH. His wrist feels much better and practice has been pretty good for the past two days, but there is no reason to rush him back.
A good line for this topic would be the good ol' "GAME TIME DECISION"

Highlands over CovCath? A loss to a legitamate (sp?) Owensboro Catholic team didn't drop them that low. Even more surprising since you are more updated on Timmy's situation then the rest of us.
If you look closer I have them tied at #2. Thats why I said a tiebreaker takes place on Friday. I watched the Owensboro Cath game and the Elder game. Did you? If you did then you would agree that they are easily beatable without a legit PG like Tim. I might be updated (on the situation), but what does that have to do with how the team is playing without him?
I've also seen Highlands and know that they are playing very well right now, unlike CCH. Do I think this can change? Yes, Read the top of my post to understand what I am saying. Right now this is MY OPINION.
