I have been hearing the same thing...

At least one was a stripped ball. No "POP" just a punch and a "DROP". One of Ty's may have been due to a hit. One was not secured and could be attributed to both a hit and player error. Both teams hit very well. I'll agree to disagree, too, but I do know that there may have been one fumble to tag a "POP DROP", but the others were questionable.

The Lowrie(?) kid seemed banged up after one of the plays. Is his leg hurt again?

LC tried to pass a few times and the QB either got sacked or seemed a little hesitant in what he was trying to do and got into messes. One of LC's biggest plays came on a swing pass out to Jared Ammon (#34) on the series that brought LC within 6. The pass is there to use. LC also tried to pass into the endzone on 4th down after the INT, but the intended receiver was knocked down on a no-call. I don't think it is the athletes or inability to plan the pass, the timing is just not there. The LC players seemed too content on pass D to allow the catch and then try to make the play. We were giving up 1st downs without players in the same zip code as the receiver on many plays. Like I said before, in a game like this, you have to play smart. We didn't. Maybe we should have put the kids up at a Holiday Inn Express on friday night.....:idunno::ohbrother:

Long or short. A win friday sends them to Raceland on a long trip. A loss to Berea sends them to a season ending crushing at the hands of LCA closer to home in Lexington.....

I did want to return to something with jacket25. Even with all the turn overs, Williamsburg did not "Name The Score" as you said they could. (Unless, of course, this was the score that they named. I would expect more points in a "We Name The Score" beat down , though.) It was a competitive, hard hitting game that was really finally decided in the 4th qtr.

There are two plays in my mind that this game hinged on. LC had stopped W'burg at the goal line, got the ball back and fumbled it two plays later inside their own 10. This led to a "freebie" TD for Williamsburg. LC intercepted W'burg and returned the ball to inside W'burg's 10. LC had the ball moving well and I think it was 2nd and goal from the 6. Movement on the line moved the ball to the 11 and the Jackets were able to stop the Cats. Football is a game of inches and you have to play smart to win. The turnovers hurt the Cats, but the field position on turnovers killed them. Jackets earned the win.

I'm going with everyone else. WOW!

I look for a good crowd, too. Field conditions at LC are borderline condemed at this point. I'm looking forward to the change in pace, though.

The field IS a wreck. I don't think the officials or many parents would want kids playing on it. I look at it this way: It gives kids a chance to play somewhere that many of them never will, plus get to play on turf. Its a good recruiting opportunity for UC if they want to use it, also.

Right now it wouldn't hurt my feelings to be a very, wet soggy WINNING cat....:clap: Got to keep it safe and right now, the field is not safe, IMO.

ff, Game is now in the process of being scheduled AT UNION on saturday, Oct. 17 around 3:00/3:30 pm. Just left the field after the Head Coaches talked it out. In the ADs hands, but see no reason for it to be shot down.

I was trying not to point fingers, Cat! I forgot about the "no lights" situation at Union. It would be an afternoon saturday game. That is if the Bulldogs were not playing at home....:idunno: I think this one will be at the new field. I have a suggestion: Whoever gets tackled, get up fast or drown!

New field is a VERY SOGGY mess. I've never seen it this bad. Even at the old place. The new school grounds have a lot of underground springs and I think the water just has no where to go right now. It was anle deep in places the night of the C'ville game and has only gotten worse.....

Having seen both, I'm going with the Dragons. Pineville has the better offense, but with the weather being what it is and Harlan having a good defense, I have to favor Harlan. Pineville has came a long way from last year and could be looking at a bright future with the way they can move the ball, IMO. True. I have heard this game may be played at LC's old field due to bad drainage. Whever we end up playing this one, the field is going to be a wreck due to the weather.

I think that there have been some adjustments to the W'burg D, but I still like our O line and what they can do. Are the kids "out of position" only, or "out of position and inexperienced", volfan? LC moved the ball well against C'ville. LC also held C'ville to negative rushing yardage for the game. The Eagles threw a lot, but the run was able to be controlled by LC and the Jackets. LC will compare more to the Harlan game for W'burg than the C'ville game.

You do have to keep pressure on Moses if you do not want to watch the chains move constantly. I agree with FMJ.

His knee is clearly down when he picks up the ball. If there was a review available at the game, I have little doubt this would have been ruled a dead ball.

Also, the only time recently that anyone beat the other in this series "as bad as they wanted to" it was LC with Chaffin and Reynolds in '05. Even with the Greer and Frazier years, this has been a game between the two teams, year in and year out as of late. Neither of these teams match up well with the Greer Jacket teams or the Chaffin led '05 Wildcat team. I can't see either version of the Cats or the Jackets having their way with the other this year, j25. You may want to remember, also, j25, that this game often goes to the team that should not win it. Remember the '07 game.....

This was just tacked on a bulletin board somewhere by a Wildcat, j25..... Trying to compare games is a real problem.:idunno: LC and Williamsburg both lost tight games to Campbellsville. LC handled a Harlan team that Williamsburg could not touch, j25. I'm sure that LC will be ready for the Jackets, and I do not see the Jackets pulling off a win "BY AS MUCH AS THEY WANT". The Jackets now have to cover the check you are writing, IMO. I can see both teams scoring on each other. This one could come down to who wants it most and who can take the hardest pounding....JMO.

I like our chances IF the Cats can do as LC99 says. Pound the ball at Williamsburg AND also play the stingy type of defense they have been playing since about game 4.
