Nope, I disagree. The classes are set-up to make sure that your competing against a school of similar enrollment. I will never be convinced that some of those Lexington 4A schools are NEVER as talanted as the Trinity and St. X teams. At some point people need to look in the mirror and question their dedication, support, and their coach's ability before they decide to just exile the programs who are doing it right.

In their class, yes. And rightly so.

I have to believe that if I am at a 4A football program, then unless I beat X and/or T (or the team(s) that put them out), then I am absolutely NOT a state champion.

See that is where I have a problem because to me athletics are a part of the total educational experience. Sure they are an extracurricular activity, but they are an activity that is tied into the total school experience.

This is the way I see it, if T, X and Cov/Lex Cath. can offer their students (no matter where they come from) a better educational experience, then who are we to try to stop that? Just because Wal-Mart is down the street, it doesn't mean that I have to buy my clothes there.

What is it worth to win a State Championship then have people be able to say, AND RIGHTLY SO, that you didn't beat the best team to win that? Whether they have advantages or not, the Privates are good for Kentucky HS Athletics and their traditions are some of, if not THE, best in the state. I coach three different sports at a public school and if we ever win a state championship I'd rather be answering questions about how we were JUST BETTER than the Private Schools more than I'd like to be getting into hypotheticals about whether I thought that we COULD HAVE beaten them for that state championship.

I would not trade Johnathan Denham for any running back in the state. The only reason he isn't on everyone's mind is because the Maroons don't style their offense around him. I look for him to announce his presence with authority Friday night against Boyle.
