  1. Hopefully Danville can continue to improve before playoff time. I'd like to see the Ads make a deep playoff run.
Danville definately improved in holding on to the football. They only had one turnover on an interception. Danville's prior three losses came from playing 2 excellent teams and one pretty good team in SouthWestern, Boyle is the one team I think they had no chance beating. But I wouldn't mind seeing a rematch with the Somerset and PSW. As far as Class 2A, I think you will see them shine. I don't like to look past games, but when Danville plays Washington Co. we will see who is who and what is what. That game in my opinion will give an indication on how much success Danville will have in the playoffs this year.
  2. The Tigers are reeling. They were without their starting quarterback (Brewer), their backup quarterback and top playmaker (Cosby), their halfback (Whitfield) played QB, they were without several offensive and defensive starters and played several freshmen and sophomores.

That said, Danville looked very sharp, particularly their young lineman. Good football team, I was impressed. Always good to see Charlie Perry come for a visit.

Hearsay, Will they be getting these players back soon? I hope so, because with out them its going to difficult for Bardstown the rest of the season.
  3. I'm not surprised about the Danville win but the score was not close. Is Danville that much better than Bardstown?
ABSOLUTELY! Danville did just about what ever they wanted. My understanding was they had a third string quaterback playing, and alot of young players. They must have graduated a lot of players off last years team. Danville looked good throwing and running last night.:thumb:
  4. This kid has had too much to drink. He clearly knows nothing about football and his facts are pretty much all wrong.

I also like that everyone keeps talking about MacShara. Boyle County is one of the top rushing teams in the state WITHOUT MacShara. I love the doubters.

As for Dawson. The kid has a world of potential. Remember, he will be 17 when he is in college and for a few games during the season before he turns 18. He is still very young. He is suppose to be a junior in high school. I'd much rather hear the opinions of the colleges recruiting him, than knights52.

That is what I was thinking , Wayyyy Tooo Muchchch to Drinnnkkk!!!!!!!!:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::D
  5. Boyle wins 48-24
I doubt Lex Cath scores at all, I saw a replay of them on Wazzoo and they are not impressive at all. They are nothing like the Lex Cath teams I have seen in the past. I have seen Boyle Co. play twice, if they are playing well Lex Cath will have less than 100 yards offense and Boyle will probably score in the 40's. Boyle's defense is playing really well at this point and Lex Cath didn't show me enough offense that they will be able to move the ball.:walk:
  6. Here comes PurplePride92 without local feelings whatsoever and true feelings for a true rivalry with Bell County or LexCath.

    *******True story*******

I am currently in Japan and a friend of mine who works at Corning with me is here also. He is a Mercer County fan. We met at the local Japanese watering hole and the first thing he says to me is "did you see where Boyle and Danville may not play each other anymore?" I laughed, slugged my adult beverage down and said......"Good!!!!" I hope we are done with them. That's what they get." You see......in about 5-10 years Boyle County and Danville will become one school that will play in 5A or 6A. It's a matter of time people. Wrap your heads around to it and let it sink in. It is going to happen at some point and this is the first step. Boyle County would be STUPID.....yes STUPID to turn away the bowl games with Trinity and St. X to appease Sam Harp/Danville. Period. The time has come to do what is right for the PROGRAM at Boyle County and if that means stepping on Sam Harp...I mean Danville's toes.......then so be it. Boyle County doesn't have any hurt feelings over Will Dunn.....Danville does. Will Dunn showed up at Boyle County's doorstep and he was welcomed in. Hopefully the right thing will be done before the season ends and young Will will be allowed to suit up AT LEAST ONCE IN BLACK AND GOLD. I say have the bowl game at Boyle County next year....sink the Pigskin Classic....move on....so be it. If it costs Boyle County a regular season game against a crosstown foe then so what. No sweat off of my back. Sam Harp ran away from Boyle County at the rec league level, the freshman level and the jv level and that is the truth. I'll be here all week(and anytime for that matter) to stand by that statement for anyone who wants to take it further.

The Danville/Boyle County rivalry may be done. And good riddance. Who really looks like the coward after losing 12 of the last 15 matchups and getting dusted the last 3 years?

    Answer that one.

Forget diplomacy..........I'm tired of dancing around.......LexCath and Bell County are ready to be rivals......especially if they both go to different classes next year. New day.......new age. A Boyle County victory over Danville is no longer needed to validate the season. Who needs them?

Since you are from Bowling Green, you have no idea about this rivalry, so all that junk you just spewed is empty words in my opinion. If Danville and Sam Harp have hurt feelings they need to get over it, if Larry French and Boyle Co. have hurt feelings they need to get over it. I can see PP 92 you are kinda close to the situation since you work at Corning. If you have the connection I think you do, maybe you are just hearing one side of the story. About the bowl game, I don't understand why Boyle having a Bowl will affect things. Danville will invite different teams to their Bowl game, and Boyle can invite teams to their Bowl game. Boyle Co. had only been a part of the Pigskin Classic the last two years.
  7. I hope that the Boyle County/Danville game continues along with a bowl game on the schedule. Boyle County does need to have a bowl game and it will definitely benefit the program. Dropping their biggest rival does not benefit the program. Also, it sounds like the dropping of the Boyle County/Danville game is more one-sided, in favor of Danville. Am I wrong to assume that?
I don't know what is going on with this situation, but who ever has their feelings hurt needs to get over it, ending this rivalry that has gone on since 1965 over one incident is totaly ridiculous. For me that goes for both sides, whoever it is, don't get mad and take your ball and go home with your lip stuck out.:irked:
  8. Danville has a week off and hopefully will get some offensive issues worked out. I don't have the numbers but with the exception of Pikeville, Danville's pre district schedule has been much much stronger than Washington County's. If Danville's offense gets on track they will take the district title.:clap:

  9. Or is Boyle too much for the Ads?

Would someone be so kind and give us the run down over the last ten years. I am interested in how this turns out. I know Danville has some nice teams a few years ago and I would like to see how this rivalry game has been stacking up.

I think if you look at the game thread for this game it has the information you are looking for. Boyle has had the upper hand the last 10 years, before that Danville had a long streak of wins over Boyle, I think 16-18 including playoffs. I think Danville has some good talent coming up, maybe it can get competitive again in the future.
  10. About what I expected. Boyles defense was dominating which was no surprise. I thought Danville's defense had some good spots. The only chance Danville had to move the ball was through the air and they dropped several passes that were right on target. Washington County, is making a little noise but if Danville can get their offense on track I still think they could do well in the district and playoffs. Two of their last three losses have been to teams that are among the best teams in the state so they just have to keep pressing forward and not get discouraged.:thumb:

  11. Question for all Boyle and Danville fans.

Do you see this game as becoming a little nastier than recent years? I ask because of what has gone on between the two since January.

Will Danville have a chip on their shoulder from what they may perceive as a betrayal by Will Dunn to quit in mid year and go to Boyle with the attitude of playing football for the Rebels?

    :idunno:

Are the Rebels ready to take out their frustrations on the Ads for what they perceive as an open campaign vs. Dunn and Boyle, led by Sam Harp?

    :idunno:

Add in the natural rivlary and will this game get beyond testy in your opinions?

    :idunno:

I wish I were at this one instead of that Mercer snore last week. It should make this a highlight game based on the soap opera alone. :thumb:

To be honest, I haven't heard that much being said about the situation you are referring to lately. I'm not sure about the Boyle Co. faction. I could be wrong, but I doubt it has much effect on the game friday.:idunno:
  12. My heart says Danville will win, but reality sets in and I know Boyle Co. will more than likely win this game. IF the Ads can get back to playing the way they did against Mason Co., they might have an outside chance if they didn't turn the ball over, execute their offense better, and Boyle Co. makes several key turnovers. I just hope Danville will go out and play with some pride and be competitive in this game.:thumb:

  13. I think NCC is the best right now, But if Danville can get thier offense clicking, they will be a stong State contender come playoff time, with out the fumbles last friday night I think the score could have been 21-13 Somerset, instead of 38-13. Danville has some work to do but thay have time and a lot of up-side. From everything I heard Somerst will be in the 3A championship again. The Ads just need to stay agressive, shut down the run, and force teams to throw the ball. The passing game gets more difficult to execute in November and December. If I remember correctly there were a lot of interceptions last year in the Championship games.

  14. It wasn't like Danville was mishandling snaps and handoffs. They were getting seperated from the ball by some shots from the Somerset defenders. It looked like the Admiral ballcarriers simply weren't used to getting hit like they did Friday night--and with their speed they probably weren't. It is something that they can fix, I wouldn't want to be an Admiral back or receiver in practice this week. I'd say they will be lots of ball security drills, which are never pleasant.
This has been a problem for Danville in past years, Last week when I gave my score on the game I said "IF" they HOLD ON TO THE BALL" and stay agressive on defense they would win. Though they they probably wouldn't have won, it could have been much closer.
