  1. I think NCC is the clear favorite over all. Danville has more than enough talent and ability to win to the opposite side of 2A from NCC. The big thing for Danville is limiting turnovers which has been their major weakness this year, and being more productive with their passing game. If they can complete 4-5 passes a game for 50-60 yards their offense becomes explosive. We will have to wait and see what will happen, shoiuld be a fun and exciting playoff this year.

  2. I was giving Bardstown the benefit of the doubt...and in two weeks we will see if the mighty Ads can handle the Dragons. This team is for real, and they will not lay down and say "oh my goodness, its Danville!". If I am wrong I will gladly admit it, but I will not jump on the bandwagon just yet!
Don't get me wrong, I think Green County is a really good team, with a coach who knows how to motivate them. I'm interested in seeing them play. I think the days of "Oh my goodness, its Danville!", are over. But I do think the Admirals are much improved from last year and will be hard to defeat at home in the playoffs. But by no means do I think Danville wil just beat GC with ease.
  3. IMO they should get back to the region Final again this year. They are playing very good football at the right time of the season!!!
IMO, they won't get back to the region final, They put a whoopin on Danville last year. I don't think GC can dominate DHS that way this year, two entirely different teams from last year. And tsyoung you didn't think Danville could beat Bardstown the way they did. My point GC has to come through Danville on the way to the regional final and it won't be easy this year.
  4. Thin 30, the only time that Frankfort's Defense loosens up is after the game.......They do WHAT they do very Well....Best of luck to both squads in the post season......
OK, Wasn't trying to get anything started, but I will take up for the ADS, the original poster that I responded to made it sound like Frankfort made all the mistakes and didn't play well, while Danville played a good game. Neither team played that well, but when Danville made mistakes their defense made the plays to stop Frankfort from scoring, and Frankfort couldn't. Frankfort did a good job blitzing and not letting Danville get any rythm on offense, and to "retired" if Danville's QB made better decisions and had about 2 more seconds to throw, Frankfort's run defense would have loosened way up before the game was over or the score for Danville would have been several touchdowns higher. Good luck to Frankfort in the playoffs, sounds like you guys will have your hands full with Beechwood, as Danville will with Green Co.
  5. Frankfort shot their selves in the foot with turnovers, bad kick coverage. No disrespect to the Ads but game was closer than score. Danville interior 5 line controlled game, but if Frankfort scores right before half on a no called pass interference things could have been different. Regardless good hard fought football game and good luck to the ADS in the playoffs.
No disrespect to Frankfort, but Danville also shot themselves in the foot. I thought Frankfort's defense was good, but Danville's Offensive line didn't give Alcorn any time to throw, if they had, Danville had receivers open and could have loosened up Frankfort's run defense. This game score was what it was, Danville's defense stood up and stopped Frankfort's offense. I think Danville is easily 3 touchdowns better, and with a little pass protection could have been a blow out.:D
  6. There has been a lot of talk concerning Jude's record setting performance last week. Last night, Dvontae Bradley of Cooper High School rushed for 410 yards in a game his team lost to Conner 46-40. The newspaper said it was the #15 rushing performance in state history. The question is which performance deserves more recognition - setting the record in the manner Jude's coach went about it or Bradley's performance in a game that ended in a goal line stand?
Also last night in Danville vs Washington Co. district championship game where WC was undefeated, Danville's Patrick Brand rushes for 480+ yards. How about his performance.
  7. Danville starts out the game in a hole and stays that way much of the first quater. They get it going 2nd quater, score 21-6 at half, WC kicked 2 field goals for thier 6 pts, WC has a really nice kicker and punter. Second half opens up WC kicks off with a squib kick, Danville returns to the 11 yard line, I think three plays later Danville scores makes it 28-6. But WC doesn't lay down, they come right back and score, the game stays about a 15 pt margin until about 7:46 to go in the game WC gets an on side kick back and scores and cuts the game to 41-35. Danville responds well gets some stops and finally and an interception and scores easily 2 more touch downs and one two point conversion to make the score 55-35. WC played thier heart out and gave all they had, they just couldn't stop #16 Brand. Also Danville could have scored again with about 2:30 to go, moving the ball on the ground at will, but Coach Harp shows good spotrsmanship and takes a knee several times after gaining a first down and runs the clock out. Danville's offense played well with I'm sure around 600 yards or more, WC offense played well in the second half but some mistakes on Danville's part, a couple of blown coverages and the recovered onside kick made this game closer than it should have been. Also Danville had probably 10 hits on WC's best back, I think #18, in the back field and didn't wrap up and he ended up gaining substantial yards. WC has a good team And could very well beat our sister distict and be back in Danville in Couple of weeks. WAY TO GO ADS, DISTRICT CHAMPS! AND HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE THROUGH OUT THE PLAYOFFS!:dancingpa

  8. Against Danville, Whitfield was playing QB for the first time in his life at any level. Against WC, he had an extra week to get the feel for the offense. That had a lot to do with it.
What ever you say, but I don't think one week would have made that much difference. We will see come friday I'll take Danville 42-14.
  9. I know, I know. It sounds crazy, but I base that on having seen both teams. Obviously, Danville is the favorite, but WC does some things that I think can hurt Danville, and they have a lot more speed than any WC team I've seen.

From what I've been told, the Tigers ran 11 more offensive plays and had six more first downs than the Commanders, and because of time of possession advantage was able to keep the WC passing attack mostly in check. The Tigers had a couple turnovers deep in Commander territory to stop drives.

I don't think Danville will go into Springfield next week feeling a need to shorten the game the way Bardstown had to because of injuries at QB and WR, and as a result I look for the DHS-WC game to be a shootout, where anything can happen.

Danville puts up 59 on Bardstown, and didn't let Bardstown shorten the game, which means Danville dominated Bardstown with defense. I am wandering why Washington County couldn't stop Bardstown from shortening the game? I think Danville could have scored as many points as they wanted on Bardstown, yet WC only scored 35.:idunno:

  10. Listened to this one on the radio --

WC got off to a 14-0 lead. B'town rallies to tie it late in the second quarter, but after the KO was a touchback, Quan Turner took it 80 yards on the next play to make it 21-14 at the half.

WC added on to make it 28-14, but B'town cut it to 28-21 and it stayed that way until the final minute and change of the game, when the Tigers forced a 4th and about 4. WC faked the punt, however, and ends up scoring to ice it.

Tough break for B'town, but they played well against what I think is a pretty good WC team that has a chance to take down the Admirals next week if the Commanders play as well as I think they can.

    :eyeonyou::confused::rolleyes:
  11. I can say that FK is ready to play against the Ads. I am agreeing that Danville is better than last year, I am also saying that they will win, but I will say this again that this game will be very close and the Ads will have to bring it all four quarters to get the win. FK will not lay down and let them beat up on them. They also will capitolize on Danvilles ablilty to turn the ball over. If the Ads can hold on to the ball and control turnovers then they may win bigger, but I am having doubts about this. I promise if the Ads win big I will be one of the first to give them their cudo's!!!! I will also make a public apology and say I was wrong....Should be a good game!
I was just trying to get a feel for Fort Knox, you won't owe anybody an apology. I didn't realize that the WC vs Fort Knox game was as close as it was. I agree if Danvile has a turnover ridden game anybody could win. But I have seen them when they are not turning the ball over and get in rythm be very, very good and capable of beating some good football teams. If Danville comes out clicking I'll take them in this one 42-7.
  12. Boyle DOMINATED all areas of the game. They controlled both sides of the line, plus their run game set up the pass game perfectly. Boyle has a very good defense that was always around the ball and never let Catholics passing game get off the ground. You could tell Boyle was by far the better team. The only problem I had, Boyle held a 35-3 lead late in the 4th, with complete control of the game, and they still had their 1st team offense on the field and didn't sub until after another score. That tells me that Boyles coach was trying to run up the score. I hate seeing this from a from a very good and well coached team.
I wasn't at the game but I doubt seriously they were running up the score. They haven't had much competition lately and Coach French was probably just trying to get all the work he could for the starters. When they played Danville, they could have probably scored again at the end of the game, but they took a knee. Another thing, most Coaches won't pull their starters until the other team pulls their's. Did LC pull their starters after Boyle was in control? I have a problem with teams that are way behind and don't pull their starters, only to let them try to get points against the other team's young guys.
  13. Ads by 14...not a blowout as most would believe!
I'm curious, Why do you think it will only be 14points? Washington County beat them by 18 points last week, and I'm thinking Danville is stronger than WC when comparing schedules. Also, Danville is back at home for this game and has seemd to cure the turnover bug.
