I would love to have his seat to the games!

    :ylsuper:

    Some advice:

Dont let anyone bring you down. You doing what few people EVER get to do and you will benefit from it if you play your cards right.

Keep your grades up, ya never know when the others guys don't.

Stay healthy and ready. ya never know when someone gets hurts.

Try not to hurt anyone in practice.

Meet as many people/contacts/friends as you can while on the road.

Mark is one kid that you don't have to worry about.

  2. Middle Screen to Tim Turner, (man to man with Alexander covering) picked off... ball game. I was on the sideline as a sophomore at CC. Coach Styer looked at me and said, "HENRY," I couldn't imagine going in. I went up to him, he ripped my mouthpiece out, handed it to Jim Ahsman(sp) and said, "Get back in there!"

Asman, one of the smartest dudes you'll meet.

  3. Beechwood has the better Defense! They are big strong and fast. The X factor will be Vicars. He is an outstanding football player who is very underrated. If Beechwood can contain Vicars. Beechwood wins!

I believe that Beechwood has the better pass defense. I believe, but am not 100% certain, that NewCath gives up less yards against the run.

  4. You love to dislike Beechwood but it's great so after they win we can get on you.

Why would NCC make off. adjustments at half when they were doing what they wanted, run right over BHS and winning 21-7.

As for your BHS QB comment, Elliott, is 64/154 w/1168 yd and 11 TD's before last night. He does not throw 'floaters,' he throws bb's. I don't know what game you watch but your not watching the same QB I am.

The WR is Kayiatos, yes, he is a good one w/great hands and great speed. Finan, as of late, has been doing alot of the returns because they will kick away from Kayiatos.

Agree, Vicars is a great RB and is the key to winning. If BHS stops him, BHS wins because that means NCC has to be throwing and BHS's pass D has been very good this yr.

    "Beechwood wins again!"

Where in my assessment did I show any NewCath bias besides my prediction of the final score? I'm not impressed with Elliot. A 42% completion percentage doesn't jump out at me as great. He's a good runner though, so he gives Beechwood an added dimension in the playoffs. I believe, as well, that if NewCath can't run, they will have a hard time winning.

By the way, one of my best friends from college played at Beechwood. We needled each other all the time over the rivalry. That was 5 years ago, I'm over "disliking" a high school. I am making an objective observation. You do a pretty good job of it as well. Don't take it so personally.

  5. Glad to see the Private school fans stick together. BHS loves being the underdog occassionally.

Stop. She didn't mean that as a slap in Beechwood's face. It was the deal where you root for the team that knocked you out of the play-offs. Also, Beechwood is the last public school that should bring up public's-v-privates. Beechwood has open enrollment, giving it all of the advantages of a private school. Let's get back to the NewCath-Holy Cross game. There's another thread for Beechwood-NewCath.

  6. I think that NewCath has more talent, especially now that Tommy is unfortunately out. However, I still think that the better coaching is on Beechwood's sideline, which is far from an insult to Mr. Schneider and crew, it's a major compliment to Beechwood's staff. What killed NewCath last time was making 0 adjustments offensively at the half and Beechwood scrapping the running game to spread the field. Beechwood can't come out flat like it did last game and NewCath can't come near repeating it's second half from the same game. NewCath must cover kicks better. If they don't they will lose the battle of field position b/c Beechwood's kicker is a weapon and if it weren't for Popham at CovCath would get a lot of press. I'm not impressed with Beechwood's QB. NewCath needs to get pressure on him and his ball will float. The Tigers have a great receiver, I'm not even going to attempt to spell his name, that was the MVP of the last game with his kick returns and game winning TD grab. I'm not sure NewCath can cover him one-on-one. On the other end, I don't think that Beechwood will be able to consistently contain Vickars if NewCath's line plays to capability. Interesting game. I'm going with NewCath 28-24.

  7. How do you explain Colerain?

They are a huge public school with a disciplined coach. I hate people saying that the reason that Elder or St. X are so good is due to getting kids out of district. You still have to make them play your system. The difference is coaching and discipline. Oak Hills has over 2,500 students. Are you telling me that you can't find 44 good football players out of that amount of students??? The difference between them and Colerain is that Coombs will put you in your place. He has a very simple game plan that allows his athletes to make plays, and he beats home execution. If you look at all successful programs in Cincy or KY, you'll see a common theme. Coaches have their players respect, and in return give their all for the program. It's not about where you get your kids from, it's about the type of kids you allow to control the leadership on your team. That goes for public and private.

  8. NewCath will pop the Indians early and often and this game will be over by halftime. The season for this years feel good story comes to an end and the Koz is left scratching his head and wondering what the heck will they ever be able to do in 2A..NewCath 41 HC 13

I don't think that NewCath's offense is good enough to put up 41 on HC. I believe that NewCath will win, but they'll be lucky to put up 28. This is going to be a good game.

  9. China has more people, but it doesn't mean it is a better country.

You can't claim to be a college football fan and not attempt to watch this game.

No, but they are quickly becoming more powerful.

I agree though, if you are a college football fan, you have the #3 playing the #5 and you'd rather watch a scrimmage basketball game? Doesn't make much sense, and I'm a UK basketball fan.

  10. Everyone is talking about how the only reason Newcath lost is because of the turnovers, and that they won't do it this time because they will just run. If you were at the game you saw that Newcath tried very hard to run the whole first half. Their line just wasnt able to get any push up front against HC's and Baker and Scruggs were in the backfield all day pounding Vicars(which by the way is no knock on him because he's one of the best around). NCC was forced to throw the ball a lot in the second half because they were unable to dominate on the ground like they needed to in order to come back. The fact of the matter is Harris is a very athletic talented kid with a strong arm who will make big plays in the passing game, but at the same time he's prone to ill advised passes and INT's! Just because NCC was able to run effectively the past couple of weeks and didn't have to pass does not mean they will not turn the ball over against HC again. Having said that I'm not saying by any means that HC will win this game but I just don't see it going much different than the first one did, which in my opinion could have gone either way.

Good post. I see your p-o-v. I believe that the last three weeks have allowed NewCath to work out some kinks. I know nothing about HC, so they may be light years ahead of where they were when the two teams last played. I do know that, in terms of execution, NewCath is light years ahead of where they were.

  11. This sounds like your posts last year, using your stats and polls to justify how Lca was going to stomp Ncc. We saw how that turned out last year, you disappeared for about two weeks after that game. No apologies or good game posts.

Exactly. Good points. I like it though, I hope that he doubts NewCath again like he did last year, maybe he'll bring us the same Karma.
