I will add, Manual is THE best school in Louisville. I think Ballard is a really good school, and several magnets are very good programs. In Jefferson county, there are quite a few really, really good choices outside of X & T.

DeSales has ALWAYS been a great choice for a Catholic education. My son went to Trinity, but the reason had nothing to do with any other school offering a "lesser" education. Holy Cross and St. X were also considered. In the end he chose Trinity because that's where he felt he fit in. And Riverside, most of his cousins went to X. While some X and T grads think they're the only excellent education in Louisville, they are wrong. I can't even believe you threw CAL into the discussion. That's an EXCELLENT school. I do notice you didn't mention St. Francis or Collegiate.
