  1. The majority of the ones they test are severe. There are many with symptoms that they don’t test. So obviously there will be more deaths to go along with reported cases, since the reported cases are the ones who are severe. So that number and ratio doesn’t tell us anything.

Doesn't change the fact that out of those who have tested positive the death rate is too high.

  2. Projections by COVIDACTNOW.org for the state of Kentucky.

If we do nothing in Kentucky they project 47000 deaths by the end of this.

With the measures currently in place in Kentucky, and poor compliance to the measures, they project 13,000 deaths.

With the measures currently in place in Kentucky, and strict compliance to the measures, they project 2,000 deaths.

That's just for the first wave. Some think this will come and go until we have a vaccine.

  3. That was the number quoted yesterday, but not near 45K. How is TN getting that many tests?

I am just saying that some people claim we have tested far more than the 18k we officially show. I don't know how many or why we can't report that number.

I also don't have an answer to your question.

  4. I just heard on the radio that KY's response was rated highest in nation. I think something is fishy with TN numbers. They sure have a lot of cases and nearly the same amount of deaths as KY. IF that is true the nation needs to get down there and see what is happening at Vandy.

I saw a tweet that said there are 9 current cases of COVID 19 at Vandy and that the number of total patients in the hospital is nearly half of what it normally is. Apparently their ER was dead all day yesterday.

  5. I think many more people are honoring the shutdown than not.......at least that has been my informal observation. One question: If you are honoring the shutdown, how do you know what others are doing? Shouldn't you be inside?

Some of us are still working, going to the grocery store, etc. Also, I can stand in my front yard and see a ton of traffic every day.

  6. The death rate is too high and hopefully goes down...but it is likely lower due to people having the disease and not showing symptoms or not getting tested. I'd guess we have far more than 800 cases right now.

  7. Trying to compare the US with pretty much any other country is a shot in the dark. I understand that the healthcare gurus have to develop models based on something, but I would personally do so off of our own experience.

    Agree. Too many differences.

  8. I agree with everyone on holding China accountable for their shortcomings. But let's be clear, we are not in the situation we are in here in the US because China wasn't honest with their numbers. South Korea and Germany had the same information from China that we did and they are in much better shape than the US.

China lying did not help. We would absolutely be better off has we known the actual facts, imo.

  9. The fact that they released a number of 35 is just plain insulting. Honestly, even if they used a number 10 times that, I'd still be suspicious. The 35 is just ridiculous.

There is zero chance China is giving correct numbers.

  10. Grand larceny was down 31% with 517 reported so far this year, compared to 753 last year.

Rape and other sex crimes were both down, 69% and 43%, respectively.

Felony assault was down nearly 9% and misdemeanor assault down was 21%.

The only notable increase in the major seven crimes — murder, rape, robbery, felony assault, burglary, grand larceny and grand larceny auto — was in stolen cars. Who drives in NYC lol?

Part of the reason numbers are down is they probably aren't responding to some of those calls. My point was police are still going to be out working and around people, which is why there are so many sick.

  11. Citizens aren’t allowed out so it’s virtually a wash. Crime is probably down.

Criminals don't follow the law, not to mention someone still has to respond to calls at peoples houses (domestic violence).

  12. I just read that 1400 members of NYPD have tested positive for Coronavirus.

Has that conversation been had yet? What happens when the police are too sick to serve and protect?

We may find out. I think they have around 40k officers, but if over 6k are off that's a big chunk.

  13. They started the season on time in 2011 even though they had the lockout and no mini camps. No communication allowed with players, no playbooks given to rookies, etc. So they have done it before, and that was done with even less communication than this will allow. Rookies and stuff most likely will be allowed to get playbooks, and talk to coaches if anything through video chats and things.

As long as training camps can start on time. Then I don’t see the season being pushed back at all. I think we will know by the end of June, where it stands.

I'm not sure they will be able to have training camp on time.

  14. Yes, we know people weren't dying. If they were, it would have been noticed.

As to the months ago, that was intended for others who think the virus may have been in KY last year.

Millions of people die every year. Thousands from the flu. It would be easy to write some off as the flu when it was actually covid 19.
