  1. Have you seen that video?

Yes. He didn't appear to just be out jogging. I've never wandered around a house during the middle of a jog.

Doesn't ultimately change what happened when he was killed, but it isn't exactly what was presented to us as fact either.

  2. There is video out showing the victim walking around and going in a house apparently he wasn't supposed to be in. I'm not saying it changes anything regarding criminal charges, but it makes the media look stupid for running with the "jogger murdered because he was black" narrative.

I still don't think the two should have gave chase armed with weapons and they will pay for that decision, I just don't know why there is misinformation so much in many of these cases that go viral.

  3. Former NBA player, Shannon Brown, was arrested on May 4th after two people entered his home and he fired a rifle in their direction. The incident happened around 6pm and he was arrested around 9:45pm.

Like I said, every case is different, every place is different. There are probably plenty of examples of the opposite happening.

  4. It happened on February 23. No one cared about the pandemic then. Sports was still on. No one was wearing masks. Social distancing is what depressed people did. If it were 3 black dudes who shot a white man jogging like that they would have been arrested that day.

Anyone saying otherwise is being naive as hell.

I don't know, with the locals there that may be true but that isn't true every where. Every case is different, every place is different.

Regardless, it worked out and they can now take this to court.

  5. The GBI is to be commended. They made arrests one day after they were requested by an outside prosecutor.

The people who looked at the case before them? Not so much.

I guess I spoke too soon because I'm not exactly sure how long GBI was investigating.

  6. My only issue with the narrative here is people saying the case wasn't being investigated or it was taking too long.

No one outside the investigating agency likely knows how much it was being investigated and I seriously doubt the GBI has any reason to not investigate.

Also, these things take time. Especially during a pandemic.

  7. There is apparently more video the police have that has not been released. Regardless, I don't think any civilian should be chasing someone down imo unless that person is a threat to someone else's safety. That's just my opinion though.

  8. Here is what I would think is the best that could be hoped for to accomplish a graduation with all of the seniors present.

    1. It must be an outdoor ceremony to reduce risk spread of the virus.

    2. In order to attend the graduation, anyone attending students, teachers or staff must pass a test for the virus and a temperature check.

    3. No family is allowed to attend and the ceremony will be live streamed so families can watch. If any family member is on the grounds of where the ceremony is being held, the student will be removed from the graduation.

I don't understand the point of a temperature check since we know many people with the disease are asymptomatic.

  9. I don't know all the details about the case but if what I have heard is true it is disgusting. I can not stand people who try to take the law into their own hands and end up hurting innocent people.

  10. Other than entering, masks are a moot point in a restaurants.

Remember we live in KY, shirts and shoes are sometimes an issue. Some people will break the rules, but that doesn’t support not requiring masks.

Very rarely do you see someone in a store without shoes or a shirt. That is my point. I should have said business instead of restaurant because the point is the same.

Most people own and are ok with wearing shoes and shirts. Many don't own or want to wear a mask.

  11. Really? How many people you see in businesses without shirts and shoes? That's just based on decency.

But maybe you're right. We do have an ODD nation.

Most people who eat in restaurants own and are used to wearing shirts and shoes. Most people want to wear shirts and shoes. I don't know if the same can be said about masks.

  12. I read that article about the autopsy showing someone died on February 6th from COVID-19. Gives credence to the theory that it was here sooner than later.

Also gives credence to the reports that COVID-19 was known by worldwide leaders in November.

And no one anywhere did anything proactive. Everything was reactive. Awesome.

I don't think anyone knew exactly what was happening because China wasn't telling anyone exactly what was happening.

  13. Coronavirus stats I don’t believe:

    1. China

    2. Iran

    3. Tennessee

Nearly triple the cases of KY but the same amount of deaths.

They don't have triple the cases. We just haven't tested as many people.

  14. I agree. It serves no real purpose or benefit at this point. The only impact would be the possibility of kicking off another wave. Maybe we will be good to go in a couple weeks. But by taking the chance away of something bad happening now, I think it puts us in a better position to be further past this come the beginning of the next school year.

Personally, I just think it's silly to risk our children, and educators (who are overworked and underpaid) to use them as guinea pigs to kick the tires on opening things back up.

I agree. If it means my kids are safe, I don't care if the start of next year gets pushed. I don't want to risk any kids, or school employee's safety, when it isn't essential for them to physically be there.

  15. Yes, but when you are down to 100 people in the hospital, is it time to open schools up? We may never get to zero in the hospital even when we have a treatment and a vaccine.

What's the point of putting kids back in school and possibly fast tracking wave 2 when the state test has been canceled and most schools would only have a couple weeks left anyway?

  16. I saw a website projecting Kentucky's "curve" and the decline begins at the end of April. By the middle of May Kentucky would be using 50% fewer beds than at the peak. Kentucky would be 30% of capacity on ICU beds and less than 10% of total hospital bed capacity with both declining to less than 5% by June 1.

We need to watch Ohio numbers this week to check accuracy of that site. They are showing Ohio's peak is tomorrow. If Ohio numbers go down this week, that supports the website's projections.

Those are projected that way because of social distancing though, aren't they?

  17. I would love to have students back in the classroom. We were told that we will not return until at least May 1.

27 students in a classroom, then shuffle that deck 6 times a day, that’s a whole lot of togetherness.

I don't see any reason to have kids back in school at this point.
