Massey predicts Trinity by 14.

I'm in the same boat as Massey. I'd say close for the first half and then the Rocks pull away in the second and win comfortably, but not a blowout.

My experiences with the capacity seating that gyms have posted on their walls or in media guides is that they are inflated.
I've always interpreted them as "fire marshal" numbers more than actual seats.

Oakland has the better coach...
It is wild that he's been there for 40 years. They've had a lot of success, too.

A-10 has been crazy today. Top 4 seeds all fell (Richmond, Loyola, Dayton, & UMass), so the tournament semifinals feature the 5, 6, 7, & 9 seeds.
Is Dayton a lock for the tournament no matter what? If so, there's definitely going to be a bid-stealer win the Atlantic-10.

And he signed a big extension just before this season.
The ability of college athletics administrators to bid against themselves and cost their programs millions of dollars is staggering. Why are you extending a guy who wasn't going anywhere?

If I were a Dragon supporter, I would not be optimistic that the same interim principal, that has almost single handily destroyed Warren Central Football since 2016, is involved in making this hire. Hopefully he wasn't involved.
He's been interim principal for eight years?

When we were at the All A this year, the talk was that there wasn’t a host lined up for next year yet...Memorial Coliseum would be awesome but imagine it would be hard to work out.
Parking for that event at Memorial Coliseum would definitely be a challenge.

I agree on Graves and Marshall. They have actually been used before. McCracken is not big enough or have the proper seating. Their end zones for the students are great but their upstairs seating is not good. You can't even sit in the 1st few rows because you can't see the floor.
This is the bane of new gymnasium design. I see it at almost every new school. It's almost like the architect has never sat in the upper deck of a high school game.

I know Kansas was missing their 2 best players, but still surprised they weren't more competitive.
They haven't looked good for a month. Several ugly losses on their resume. I'm very interested to see what seed the Jayhawks get.

I hadn't seen Cincinnati until last night. I left thinking Skillings was very impressive and also kinda looks like Shane Battier except with more hair. Anyone else?

The rumor at the boys tournament in the 12th this week was that Pulaski was looking to expand their floor to the same length as college. If that’s the case, I would think they may get to host every year.
Interesting. I would assume they would cut into the concession stand end where all the open space is?

Bowling Green has never hosted in their current arena (and I'm confident will never get to)...
Hasn't Bowling Green hosted the NAIA Mid-South Conference tournament a few times in recent years? I'm assuming they have a 94-foot floor, shot clocks, etc. Obviously it will stay at Diddle Arena but Bowling Green seems more than capable as you said.

I will say after this year 12th region needs to take a look at how they are doing it. Lincoln's gym is past its prime to host region. During player intros players couldn't hear their names for starting lineups for the girls. Lighting is bad there and not enough room for a big game. I would play both the boys and girls every year at Pulaski or look at adding Mercer. Mercer has the newest gym in the region and holds more than Lincoln. I'm not here really to make a push for Mercer. Pulaski has the best place to host in the region and its not even close.
I think, size wise, Pulaski County is the best spot for the boys and Lincoln County is the best spot for the girls (just because the girls tournament typically doesn't draw quite as big of crowd).

It will be one of these four:
Scott Drew
Dusty May
Eric Musselman
Mick Cronin
All different, all good coaches. I'm not sure there is a home run hire out there this cycle but I do think any of these four would be an excellent choice for Louisville and would succeed sooner than later.

They'll never move that from Murray State, though, will they?

Final. According to Jason Frakes Evangel Christian has an enrollment of 37 students.
Didn't seem as though many people liked the way he framed that. This isn't exactly a Carr Creek/Brewers/Hickory High story. However, Evangel is a very good team and will be an extremely difficult out in the state tournament.

I am glad for the state and myself to see Travis Perry play some more before he comes to the Cats.
I don't know about Wednesday but if they win their first round game, I suspect there will be a large crowd to see them on Friday afternoon.

Does this make 5 out of the last 11 for Campbell?
It does - 2014, 2015, 2018, 2019, and now 2024. Since they seem to win back-to-back, does that make them the favorite going into next year?!

Bears down 7 with 3 minutes left, started hitting shots and took the lead with 1:10 left. Well deserved trip to Rupp for the fighting Jason Burns’. First trip to State in the school’s history, including Taylorsville High School.
Specer County was runners-up to North Oldham in 2011 but beyond that they'd never really even been close. This is only the 14th region tournament in school history dating back to 1922 and only the eighth region tournament game the school has won (they beat Versailles and Finchville in 1926; Gallatin and North Oldham in 2011; South Oldham in 2019). This is the definition of "a long time coming."

First ever trip to the state tournament for Butler County.
Looking back through the records, Butler County was 0-6 in regional finals before winning last night. All six losses came in a ten year stretch (1954-63), which just had to be absolutely brutal for their kids and fans.
1954 lost to Central City
1956 lost to Central City
1957 lost to Hartford
1961 lost to Beaver Dam
1962 lost to Caneyville
1963 lost to Hancock County

What high school gyms across the state are the most suitable for hosting a regional tournament in terms of size, parking, facilities etc... but do not ever get a chance to do so?
The 12th Region has rotated boys and girls between Lincoln County and Pulaski County for over a decade. Prior to that, there was a rotation of about a dozen schools that hosted. There are several in the region large enough to host, and occasionally Mercer County and McCreary Central make a little noise about wanting to bring back a rotation, but it seems like most of the schools are pretty content to keep it where it is, which is centrally located in the region.
I'll add, there are three college gymnasiums in the region (Centre, Asbury, CU-Harrodsburg) but none have anything close to enough seats to host a region tournament.

So, I am super confused. For a person living in Central KY, can I get the Reds anywhere? Would I have to buy a package from Bally? TYIA
I streamed them through Fubo last year. It worked fine. My complaint with Fubo is they don't have TBS/TNT, so I've canceled it for the time being and subscribed to Hulu so I'll have access to March Madness on the Turner channels. I'll probably go back to Fubo afterwards if the Reds aren't picked up by any other services.

First regional title for Magoffin County. Three previous times they had advanced to the final, losing to Johnson Central in 1984 and Paintsville in both 1995 and 1996.

West hasn’t had the same level of talent the last several years. They used to always have some transfers, mostly out of Lexington, and haven’t gotten those for a while. Or if they have, they haven’t played a starting role.
I would guess that they’re one of the largest schools in the region. Anyone know?
1355 kids in the building per the 2023-24 data from the KHSAA, the largest in the 12th Region. East Jessamine has 1222 kids while Southwestern and Pulaski County are both hovering around 1200 kids.

Adair County vs. Marshall County Predictions/Updates (KHSAA Boys' Sweet 16®)
in KY Boys Basketball (High School)

I watched that game on YouTube that night. It was close for most of the first half and then Lyon County hit every shot in the third quarter and blew it open. Lyon was clearly the better team but the whole situation kind of snowballed on Adair.
