I never liked the mouthpiece that hooked onto the face mask. If the helmet gets ripped off, it could cause damage to the teeth or even remove some teeth, most likely to occur when the helmet is removed by the facemask backwards.

If you are going to sit Armstrong for protection purposes, you have Cale Harris and Mr. Lorenzen. That would be a little ridiculous in a running clock situation.

I believe Trinity will be their toughest game after looking at their schedule. Should be a good game!

As a defensive coach I would be scared to death if they lined up in the wishbone and ran option. too much talent for a high school defense to handle.

I second that SCR. You can have a great run defense, but when you don't know who has the ball it adds a whole new set of problems. An aggressive defense is going to have problems with the wing T offense that Scott County runs.

I believe the rule was originally added to stop the hurdle on extra point attempts and field goals to enhance the chance of blocking the kick and as a safety issue for the defender doing the hurdle. The rule does apply to running backs who hurdle the defender unless as has been said if the tackler is on the ground. In the photo the tackler is close to being on the ground but there is daylight under his right knee, so you could say the call was missed or the runner was allowed to proceed. A defensive back when facing a larger running back will many times go low for obvious reasons. There are several penalized infractions in the rule book which are judgement calls, and this is probably one of them. You don't see it called much, and so it goes into the group of judgment calls like pass interference, which in High School does not have the uncatchable rule, therefore if the ball is still in the air you cannot interfere with the receiver.
