Does anyone know when North, East and Bullitt Central went to the 6th Region?
I played at North Bullitt many moons ago. I was talking to an 8th region coach the other day and trying to recall the year that North Bullitt, Bullitt east and Bullitt central went to the 6th region. our district back then was North,East, BC and Spencer county. Scott county knocked us out of the first round of the 8th Region when they had Frank Persley. When did Scott county leave the 8th? anybody know?

8th Region: Week 11
I like your ranking. I was at the Gallatin county/Oldham game and Gallatin got up about 14 or so late 3rd and Oldham started pressing them. It shook them and Oldham had a strong chance to win the game. In the end Gallatins seniors on senior night valued the basketball more than oldham and sr leadership won the game for them. I am a homer but I wish the seasons could start over with Oldham healthy. It is what it is. North and South are very good teams and both very well coached. Oldham almost got Kenton, kenton beat them on a last second shot but I think they were missing their point guard that game. the Oldham game with Walton Verona was anybodys game. Oldham did a great job on waltons best player but then closed out poorly on some others who burned them from deep. I have seen 12 of the 8th region teams play , and while many of them can get hot from deep and change the game, North and South Oldham are the two best I have seen, though looking at Kenton`s scores they are right there on their heels.

Mercer County 60 Ballard 54
Ballard was without their leading scorer Sam Frasier. not taking anything away from Mercer, I actually watched the game and they played well. Ballard is not losing that game with Sam in there.

Oldham County 67 Collins 59 (2OT)
Oldham has had a rash of injuries and the first 12-15 games of the season or so they have been playing a ton of JV guys that just were not quite ready to play at that level. They are now mostly healthy, other than losing their 6-7 Big man for the season. Should be a fun team to watch the rest of the way!

Hot Iron Basketball Review (Players and Coaches in the 6th, 7th and 8th Region)
Sorry I am not on here that often. It is just an update of a few teams that I got to watch a few weeks ago during summer scrimmages. Talked about the big guard at J town Camron Mcdaniels who I really like his game. Also talked about a couple of their new players. Then I talked a little about watching Ballard and spoke about Sam Frasier , and Nick Hayden and Nate Richardson as well as newcomer Baron Clay and Cash Whitehead ( who is transferring to Eastern)- I saw Oldham county a few games, and gave some player analysis on their top few players. Hope to have an interview soon with a Dubois player and possibly an interview with a coach.. coming soon..

Hot Iron Basketball Review (Players and Coaches in the 6th, 7th and 8th Region)
I started a basketball pod cast mainly to profile the Louisville area teams. Mainly to profile some of the teams, and talent in the area. I want to do some player interviews and profiles as well as interview a few of the coaches in the area. Hope you find some enjoyment out of it. the dead period is ending and I will have another one soon! HOT IRON BASKETBALL.autosave_v72.mp4

Chris Renner is the new coach at Oldham County
Coaching matter - just because you have a lot of talent doesn’t mean you win at a high level . It takes good coaching and good talent and a little bit of luck . Chris is putting a great staff together as well .

Open Job: Eastern
The Henry Clay team that had Jeff Blandon and Steve Miller.

Chris Renner is the new coach at Oldham County
Chris was at Waggener and Highview before Ballard - tough to win at those schools - he’s like 6th in all time wins and doing it in the 7th region is tough to do.

7th Region Semifinals
I'm late to the party but Seneca busted X up. X was soo soo good early season but just did not get any better. I think Klein struggled to use all the weapons he had available and going from a controlled offense in past year and this year opening it up just didn't bode well in the end. Teams figured out his fast break tactics and started shutting it down. You can have too much talent , and X may have just been in that position. Still great year for X and they are young. Coach Roy at Seneca is a coach to watch..

Open Job: Oldham County
The hire will be made and announced very soon. It is going to be someone that people are VERY familiar with in high school basketball. Home run hire!

Trinity 59 Ballard 56 (7th Region Quarterfinal)
Ballard lost 7 players out of their program in a three week period. They had a toxic person in the program demanding playing time for his son. Once the coaches didn't bow to his demands he used his authority to try to poison the remaining players and convince others to transfer (and they did). The team was in total disarray afterwards, and they had to pull JV kids up to have enough to play varsity. Coach Willis and staff deserve a lot of credit for getting the remaining kids to buy in and come together as a team. They played 6 and were outmatched size wise, and strength wise against a very good Trinity team. Ballard took them to the wire. Ballard will be back soon!
