  1. I’m pretty sure the progression was Danville - 7th, Taylor- 8th and 9th, Somerset - 10th. I’m not an expert on the inner workings off the KHSAA but I think the middle school years aren’t counted.
  2. Here are a few metrics that might help make sense of the 12th region. RPI: DCA - .63354, Somerset - .61083, Wayne - .60112, PC - .60046 Massey overall: DCA - 38, Wayne - 64, PC - 65, SHS - 82 Massey defense: DCA - 22, Lincoln - 35, West Jessamine - 40, Wayne - 51 Massey strength of schedule: Lincoln - 41, DCA - 44, Wayne - 54, PC - 62
  3. Garrard over Boyle in OT 61-57 That was at Boyle.
  4. Also Saturday: #37 DCA at #4 GRC (being played with a shot clock)
  5. Go to YouTube and search for maroons sports network.
  6. The Somerset/PC game could be a good one. I’d say it will come down to which team plays the best three point defense.
  7. There was a rumor floating around that Pendygraft had been ruled eligible to play basketball for Boyle. Is there anything to it?
  8. I think that in some cases it will benefit teams with good defenses. If you can force the other team to work it around for thirty seconds looking for a good shot then when the time pressure kicks in it will only help your cause.
  9. DCA over Garrard 63-52.
  10. As of now, the DCA/Lincoln game @DCA is on for tomorrow (Monday) night.
  11. GRC and Montgomery County are on NFHS. That might be a good one.
  12. It was canceled
  13. Danville and DCA was canceled. No word on a make up date.
  14. They added Shannon Lofton by way of Danville/Taylor County/Somerset as well.
  15. This is great information. Thanks for taking the time to compile it.
  16. I thought it would be closer too but Bishop Brossart is really good. They have ability and are well coached. Not to make excuses but DCA is a year away from being able to compete with a team like that.
  17. You’re right. I neglected to check Massey. I was going by RPI.
  18. On paper Somerset appeared to be the stronger team. Of course the games aren't played on paper. What was the story of the game? It was pretty low scoring.
  19. One of the better college prospects I remember was Somerset’s Mark Fothergill. He was 6-9 and played at Maryland. He played in the ACC championship game against UNC. He was good enough to get on the floor with the likes of Jordan, Sam Perkins, and Len Bias. He wasn’t as good as them but he was no slouch and earned playing time in that league.
  20. Murphy from West Jessamine?
  21. In the 70’s there were two D1 athletes on the same team but they were one year apart. McCreary County had Dennis Tindle (Auburn) and Tim Stephens (UK).
  22. Correct. And, the most important resource, IMHO, is a knowledgeable trainer.
  23. Not all strength and conditioning programs are equal. Some are useless and can veer into the dangerous category. Ralph Sampson dealt with a back injury for years he suffered under the direction of a grad student who thought it was appropriate to have a 7-4 guy do deep squats. The guy at Houston has been able to make tremendous progress putting weight on tall skinny guys. Leek has a couple of intangibles that will help him. First, he has a tremendous work ethic and he’s got the good sense to focus on the most important skill of all which is shooting. Second, he’s very humble and listens well. He will be an asset to whoever recruits him and that is as a person and not just a player.
