It does seem that way my friend. But you have to look, it is the Pike County Bowl and it was originally set up for only Pike County teams so that all the proceeds would stay in the county. So I kinda see their point of view as well as to trying to keep as many county teams as possible in the bowl.

Yeah, I agree. But I think their trying to get away from that. Last year Belfry played LCA and Pikeville played Mingo Central. This year Belfry plays Mingo Central and I'd bet the Panthers won't be playing a county team either. Their doing a better job of not doing that.

As for the 2020 Pike County Bowl, not sure about who will be playing in all four of the games yet but I do know one of the games: Mingo Central (WV) vs Belfry Aug. 28th 2020 at CAM Stadium I'll post the other game at Belfry that night and the two that will be played in Pikeville the following night once the full schedule is released. (Sorry for the incompleteness of the 2020 Pike County Bowl schedule but that's all that's been put out so far.)

Not the hire I was expecting but I hope it all works out for the Hounds and Coach Greer. Corbin is a tradition rich program and I hope Coach Greer continues to build on what Coach Haddix started. Going to be very interesting the next year or two to see if that happens and what direction the new head football coach leads the Hounds. Good luck!

Congratulations to this outstanding football player! I've seen alot of high school football over the years and this kid ranks at the top with the very best that I've ever seen. Bright future ahead for this young man.

Most All State/All Star teams are going to be different in some way or the other. But their usually consistent about who's on these teams, meaning they usually have the same players but differ on where they put them. One may have a certain player on their 1st team while the other has that player on their 2nd team. Here's the problem I have with what's went on with the AP the last two years. And I'm in no way disrespecting the kid from Breathitt Co. who made 1st team OL. The kid is a pretty decent football player. But he is not in the same conversation as Dane Jackson, Blake Gossett, Ethan Wolford, Chris Malala, or a Blake Moody. I'm sorry but he's just not. Also, like I said before, usually the top players in the state are consistently mentioned somewhere on all the All State/All Star teams. And the four or five I mentioned are. Most were on the CJ team, the BGP team, the AP's team, and even the other KY football threads team. But this kid hasn't even been mentioned on any of those other teams but yet he's a 1st Team AP All Stater? Come on now, something is just off here. You just don't get overlooked by every other poll out there and then appear at the top of another. I could maybe understand if he appeared as an HM selection, but not a 1st Team. So yeah, I think it was definitely influenced.

These two are the same person. The guy that started KPG, Fletcher Long, started using the alias "H.B. Lyon" after he moved to Breathitt County. A really good friend of mine used to be one of his followers until he found out some of the things this guy was up to and doing. And he told my buddy that he goes by a fake name so that he can write more stories about his son and people won't be none the wiser. There's not a thing wrong with a man wanting to say good things about their children but when you've taken it as far as this guy has is when it becomes a problem.

Hello fine folks of BGP! This is my first ever post on this site. Heard about you guys from a friend and I've been reading your threads for awhile but never joined until now. Wish I had a long time ago. About my KY high school football knowledge. Well, I'm pretty knowledgeable about all the EKY teams and classes 1A through 3A, some 4A, but other than that I'm spotty, Lol! I look forward to talking football with you guys. I am the new guy so take it easy on me for awhile!
