  1. You are right about the injuries, they were ankles not a body blow or something. And as you mentioned they were partly because of getting tired from all the pressing and man defense. I don’t concede the idea that Campbell at any point was ever going to get back in the game or that Campbell was competitive with Ryle. The mismatch in skill, athleticism, and length was almost comical. If Ryle was motivated and did not play their JV players as much as they did during the game they could’ve scored 100 points and kept Campbell below 40. I also don’t concede that you could not see the Campbell coach being over emotional in a blowout game. You did see him get a technical right? Given the mismatch of the two teams is why the coaches drive to push his players to be more aggressive seemed so out of place. At no point did I think the Campbell girls were trying to hurt anyone. They were just playing as hard as they could.
  2. Sorry. It was a frustrating game to watch as it seemed Campbell was unnecessarily rough at the coaches direction. The score was 26-5 after one quarter. Refs let a lot of contact happen, maybe cause they felt bad for Campbell. Crittenden in second quarter and Schwartz in third both left the game with injuries.
  3. Ryle wins a very rough game. Two starters injured.
  4. This is pretty accurate to what I observed at Ryle. Summer seemed the second option when Mya couldn’t get a shot off. Meredith forced a lot and didn’t want to give the ball up. Oddly, once Ryle’s twos were in down the stretch Scott left there starters in so Mya was really aggressive padding her stats vs the JVs. Is there a good coaching reason to leave in your staters when getting beat bad? Maybe helps build confidence?
  5. Playing the #11 team in the state four times in one season will not be easy.
  6. I know SK starts one freshman or sophomore, not sure how old Webb is. But then there are three juniors and one senior that starts so if they have young talent it’s coming off the bench?
  7. Will Brossart upset some teams in the 10th or are they not quite there yet? I’m guessing that Clark County would be too much for Brossart but what about the other schools in the region?
  8. That’s a close score for SK/Walton! Seems like the 8th is anyone’s region this year? Simon, Walton or Anderson County. The years of SK dominance over or are there some good young players coming up?
  9. I saw the game. Ryle missed shots early. Conner made shots. Ryle down 14-0 to start. Conner crowd was big and noisy, seemed to played a role the whole game. Ryle starts faceguarding Hurst, makes her not have as many opportunities. Ryle is down 1 at half. Ryle led by 3-6 most of second half except one time in the 4th. Pulled away down the stretch. Schwartz with 22, Scherr with 17. Both had to have double figure rebounds as well. Conner is loaded with senior leadership and girls that work hard. Have a long history with Cougar athletics and love the girls basketball program, but being a Ryle parent I was happy to see Ryle come away with the W. Ryle is very good this year. Not sure about the #16 in country MaxPreps ranking, but definitely one of the top teams in KY. Crittenden, Douthit, Johnson and McGregor are very good and with their talent increasing from last year they will be tough.
