They have a ton of youth around Kerns and a couple of other veterans. Middle schoolers are playing a role this year.

Certainly not giving up on the rest of the 9th, but having watched them all often, I think Cooper is a clear favorite today. Notre Dame, Holy Cross, and Ryle have really good teams, but I don't think any of them are as complete. Honestly, I'd love one of the other three to win to have some new blood coming out of the 9th, so being wrong here would make me very happy.

Final from Union. Cooper led at Halftime but SKLP won the 3rd 21-6. The top two teams in NKY didn't disappoint in this one. Hard for me to see either of these two not winning their respective region tournament.

Final from The Igloo. Big congrats to Coach Nelson, I'm sure he enjoyed that one.

Final from Edgewood. Two proud programs, well-coached, enduring a tougher than usual season. Both of them will battle you every night.

Final from Huntington. Huntington Prep plays Covington Holy Cross this weekend.

Wow, very nice Indians. Thought they'd lose a close one, but happy to be wrong.

Highlands really struggles to score, and they have no real size to try and contend with McClain. Very solid road win for the Lady Raiders.

WV wins the rivalry game at home by 6, after losing six in a row they have won two straight.

Campbell Co. lost to CovCath by 34. They lost to Brossart by 13 (still the biggest head-scratching game of the year for me). They lost to Highlands by 4 in OT. It is tough to know exactly what to expect from the Camels, but without question, they'll have the best player in the game tonight. Holy Cross has been equally difficult to predict, game-in and game-out, and being at home hasn't been the consistent advantage that you'd expect. I do expect Campbell County to get the win tonight, but I'd be shocked if it is by 20+. Give me the Camels by 6-8 in a game that is very much in doubt going to the 4th.

Ryle at Highlands tonight looks to be the Girls' game of the evening. Honorable Mention to the rivalry game down south, as Grant County visits Walton-Verona. That should be, if nothing else, competitive and a little spicy.

I am, yes, I've been consistent all year (after seeing both twice) that they will get SHA in the 7th Region Tourney. Can't jump off that now.

Shame on me, didn't realize Calloway County and Assumption would be in the first round. WOW!!!!

Nice to see 7th, 9th, 8th and 10th in their own quartile. The semifinals could be OUTSTANDING.

Thanks. I'm assuming it won't be 6:00 and 7:30 as it is currently scheduled. Heck of a week for them if the Cooper game gets played tonight.
