  1. If they weren't, they would have posted things with logic and not just said "hahahah...... Highlands will be back just because they're Highlands." At least back in the 2000s, people would use things like the feeder system as a reason for Highlands' success.
  2. And have barely a winning season and then a horrible losing season and you think everything is fine? Because it's very strange that a team would go 25 years just blowing teams out to then losing in the semis to then only winning 3 games. Something is obviously different. That doesn't just happen. They stopped two-platooning, so was that because of a lack of talent of the coaching level or other schools becoming better? So you're expecting Highlands to rebound in 22 years and don't consider those 22 years a downfall? Not only was Highlands winning in the past 25 years, but they were blowing teams out. What will cause this resurgence in 22 years? History tells us they'll be back again? When has this ever happened in Highlands football history? You think a team suddenly goes from dominating teams every year in almost every game to a barely winning record and then a losing record and there's nothing wrong?! I have yet to see one post with any logical argument against me, but rather just blind homerism. And then none have returned to dominate, so what's your argument?! Those teams also never had 25 YEARS of just blowing teams out.
  3. That Highlands football is no longer the dominant force that they once were and won't be back to that level. This thread was also a question, not a statement. Highlands football made Fort Thomas and was their pride. Actually, my senior year, we beat them in the playoffs, which was after the wreck so I obviously wasn't playing, but the point of this thread is to find out why they're no longer dominant (or even relevant), which you once again avoided.
  4. Three or four years with one or two losses and a few national titles and you'd like to compare that to 25+ years of dominance by Highlands? (They also only had ONE national title in that span.) They've also never returned to that level since then and haven't even won a conference title, much-less a National one. Try again. When has Notre Dame been relevant enough to state that they returned to dominance? Big whiff on that one. Try again. Big from 2001 to 2008ish but have never returned to that dominance. You're strengthening my point :thumb:
  5. When have they dominated like Highlands has? They may have had a few (3) off years but only have one national title since 2000 and only one in the fifteen years before that and only one in the ten years before that, so not like they were ever really on top in any comparison to Highlands to begin with. Mic drop.
  6. Looks like it might be noting otherwise in the upcoming seasons. There's a lot more parity in college football and it's a lot more difficult than high school football. Show me where any college team has dominated in the same way that Highlands has for as long as they have and then suddenly don't and we can have a discussion.
  7. lol......... so you're pointing out past dominance, which they suddenly were a far cry from this season, and you're using that as an example as to why I'm wrong?
  8. Really? When was their last losing season before Weinrich? So a team has 25-or-so straight years of dominance and winning a bunch of state titles, often loaded and blowing teams out, with enough good players to be two-platooning in a bunch of those years, and they suddenly go 8-7 and 3-8 and everything is ok? Nothing to worry about?
  9. I mean losses to two 6a aren't exactly powerhouse schools and are schools that you'd be laughed off the internet for suggesting they could even stay within five touchdowns of Highlands in previous years. lol......... were we talking about CovCath? Way to throw out an attempted insult when you have no response to a valid question. :thumb: Nope. Been wondering it for a while. That you have no answer for. You think that there has been no drop-off?
  10. My mistake, but they still didn't have a winning record this year and lost to teams like Campbell County and Dixie.
  11. This has probably been discussed to no end, but I haven't been around, and the recent downfall of Highlands' football is amazing. Up until recent years, you could expect their JV squad to put a running clock on a team like Grant County, and now their varsity squad loses to them in the first round? What caused the downfall? Is it as simple as Dale leaving? That seems obvious, but you'd think assistant coaches that were on Dale's coaching tree could pick it up, especially since it was all established. Is it that Highlands closed their enrollment borders and would only let students in from the immediate area? (I heard they've recently opened them back up, which is sad for them.) Is it that other schools established feeder programs and their teams are getting better? That one seems unlikely considering they used to beat the best teams in all classes, even from other areas. Is there some other possibility that I'm missing? Will they ever return to domination or even as the leader in Northern Kentucky?
  12. Someone from Dixie once told me that they should have won all four titles while my old man was playing but the state (whoever) kept hosing them because they were a Catholic school. His senior year, my old man didn't even unpack his bag.
  13. Good friends with Ryan and Nolan's a good kid, and I figured the game would be a blowout, so I had no interest in sitting through a game that wasn't much of a game.
  14. I wanted to go to see Schrand coach and Nolan play but I think I'm dying because I've been sleeping around 18 hours a day :(
  15. Wings there are AMAZING and so are the steak hoagies (I go with mushroom sauce on them). I live on College Park (the street right behind Noce's), so it's a go-to :thumb:
  16. I've been presenting at schools a few times this week and then had to wake up at 5:30 this morning to get all the way up to Withrow to present to classes all day, so I didn't have a chance to text Ratliff or anyone for a ride down to the Beechwood game. Will it be on TV in Northern Kentucky? Will it be on a channel I can get them to put on at Wings and Rings?
  17. Roy was a legend......... he's been a HUGE part of CCH for the longest time and did so much for the school. He had a big impact on everyone, especially athletes and the teams. He'll live on through A LOT of people.
