  1. They just lost their sixth game. Surprised they are still ranked 7th in 8thRegionWarriors top 10.
  2. Gallatin County lost again to Eminence last night. Don't know if I would have them ranked 7th in the region.
  3. You get the best of both at Spencer County. One of the top coaches in the state and a Distinguished District Academically. I would say lots of players would be interested in that combination. I know the kid that transferred from Shelby very well and he was blown away by how much better of an education he is now acquiring at Spencer County. I'm not emotionally invested--I just like to discuss things with people and give them another side to look at. I kind of do know what's going on in Spencer County and I figured the logical people on these boards might like to have the insight when discussing the 8th region. That is all.
  4. HoopJunkie--what coach would want to leave a team that has three of the top eighth graders in the state playing varsity for him? The grass would have to be a whole lot greener somewhere else. He realizes he has a chance to make this program his own and could do some serious damage in the 8th region over the next several years. Burns has always been a good coach and now he finally has the talent to take everything to the next level. I thought it would be next year as I posted back during the summer, but they are VERY dangerous now. They could upset anybody on a given night as they almost did a week and a half ago. They were actually leading South Oldham with 1:38 left in the game and lost by three.
  5. It's funny listening to all these people with all these rumors. I will trust my source and it's pretty close to the situation. LOL. Burns knows what kind of talent he has for the next at least 4 years. People are just going to have to deal with it. People are realizing how good a coach he is and it will speak volumes about what's going on at Spencer County when he stays. Players are going to want to come here and play for him. It's already started and will continue.
  6. It's funny listening to all these people with all these rumors. I will trust my source and it's pretty close to the situation. LOL
  7. There aren't going to be any changes at Spencer County next year accept maybe a transfer coming in so I think it is safe to say they will be a contender next year.
  8. The transfer from Shelby County is not starting, but he would at Shelby County. Shelby County looks to be the worst team in the district behind Collins, Anderson, and Spencer County.
  9. I agree with most of what you say groundattack. A couple of teams right above them in these rankings-- I would have to say that I think Spencer County is the better team. Time will tell.
  10. You have them eighth that's three spots from where they are now. That's not some incredible jump. I think your giving Anderson style points from last year. What have they done this year to deserve your number four spot? All you can do to compare teams if they haven't played is to look at common opponents. So-- Spencer and Anderson have both played Danville and South Oldham. Spencer beat Danville by more than Anderson and Spencer lost to South Oldham by 3 while Anderson lost by 11. I would say Spencer and Anderson are dead even. Anderson has one of the best players in the region, but I would argue that Spencer is a better team. Those young kids your talking about have been playing basketball since they were 5 years old 365 days a year. Several of them play on high level AAU teams so they aren't going to hit some invisible wall, because they are just used to middle school ball. I don't know if you have even seen Spencer play, but they are actually getting stronger and better. As far as schedules go--South Oldham twice already and Bullitt East. Three games already against top 20 teams in the state. Haven't even played Anderson, Collins, Oldham. I would say that their schedule is not weak. As far as Spencer goes you bring up the past, but I am talking now and the future. I would have to respectfully disagree when you say top 5 not happening this season. You almost have them their now?
  11. The Desales win has turned out to be a pretty good win. Considering Spencer County is so young, I would say losing by 29 to South Oldham the first time and three weeks later losing by three shows signs that this young team is starting to get it. Wins don't always tell the story. How you lose to certain teams can be very telling. I'll go on record saying Spencer County will end up being a top 5 team in the region by years end. I agree that South Oldham and Collins deserve the top two spots. After that--3 through 8 can beat each other on any given night. Friday's game between Spencer County and Collins and Spencer's next game against Oldham should give us some insight as both those teams will be heavily favored.
  12. I'm a little shocked you still have Spencer County so low? 10-4 and lost to South Oldham by three points? Three of their four losses are against teams ranked in the top 20 in the state. South Oldham twice and Bullitt East.
  13. Followed the South Oldham vs Fern Creek game on twitter. South Oldham lead at the half and down 10 after three?? If Fern Creek is a top three team in the state then I would say South Oldham is top ten based upon what I heard and saw.
  14. Spindoc--you will be visited by three spirits tonight. Merry Christmas.
  15. You do realize these kids are young .They can handle it. In aau these kids are playing 3 to 4 games in one day during tournaments. My son has done that. Not a good excuse.
  16. True Blue and Gold--You do realize that all of South Oldham's games before the Spencer County game were blowouts and the starters pretty much sat out the second half? I'm just saying that the excuse of them being tired is ridiculous. It's ok for some of you to give Spencer County a little credit. They are alot better than some people thought. South Oldham is still the team to beat. Nobody is questioning that.
  17. Spindoc---didn't mean to ruffle your feathers. Just some observations.
  18. Actually the game before Spencer, South Oldham rested their starters the WHOLE second half. So if anybody should be using the tired excuse it should be Spencer.
  19. South Oldham didn't rest anybody last night. South Oldham beat Spencer County by 29 two weeks ago. Logic would tell you that this points to coach Burns being an excellent coach. Made adjustments and dang near pulled the upset. The near upsetof Anderson County in the playoffs last year would also point to Burns being a very good preparation coach. Burns has some talent in the pipeline so things should get interesting. Number zero from South Oldham was very impressive. On one rebound his head almost hit the rim. No exaggeration!
  20. Spencer County boys were tired as well. South Oldham shot poorly because they had people in their grill. Burns had them ready. Eighth region is going to be fun this year!
  21. I doubt they overlooked them considering they played two and a half weeks ago. Spencer County also played that many games in a row. If you haven't seen Spencer County you might want to come and watch. You might be surprised. South Oldham actually played very well.
  22. Fern Creek vs South Oldham would be interesting if South Oldham keeps shooting lights out. Fern Creek has them on talent, but three point shooting makes up for talent.
