  1. Maysville HS Bulldogs all-time team would be: 1. Cere Myrick (all-state guard, led Maysville to state tourney) 2. Fred Walker (great scorer and rebounder) 3. Tony Humphrey (all-state and all region) 4. Shawn Myrick (all-stater, helped Maysville to state tourney) Coach: Bob Hall
  2. Dick Vories was an outstanding player at Newport and worthy of being on the top 4. He suffered an injury that cut short his senior year at Newport or I think he is on the list. On the other end of the spectrum, McIntosh actually played his freshman and sophomore years at Campbell County before moving to Newport and playing there for his junior and senior years. McIntosh was by far the dominant big man in the 9th Region his senior year. Other Newport players who might be on the list: David Schlosser Eugene Pate Mitch Mayes Kenny Bell Darrel "Bean" Bedford Tom Laskey Keith Greene Tony Commodore
  3. Let's add Youngstown State, Akron, Xavier, FINDLAY, NAIA national champion Kentucky State as well. Hard to admit Derkson is just better, isn't it? He's laughing at you.
  4. Yeah, and then you changed when you knew you were wrong. He is riding the pine for Findlay, a mediocre D-2 team. Derkson a hall of famed for a D-2 program in his years, Ruthsatz pulling splinters for a D-2.
  5. I see you edited out "he started about 10 games last year" after you found out you were wrong. Nothing like eating crow, eh? I bet my good friend the @BOKC Wildcat would love this!
  6. I know Derkson really well and sent him a text with your comments about "plays at a much higher level than NKU did in 1971." His response was priceless. But now I understand why you don't want him on the Mount Rushmore of CovCath.
  7. One start for a D-2 team! See stats. Hope the crow tastes good. Findlay Season Box Score
  8. He started one game and averaged 3.8 points against bad competition. Derkson played against much better comp than Findlay. Derkson had to go against UT Chattanooga, Tennessee State, New Orleans, etc. You should really check your Google and get your eyes checked.
  9. At last glance, Ruthsatz is a bench sitter for Findlay. Heard more than one person say he was a better fit at Thomas More, not D-2. Looks like he should have stayed close to home and played for the Saints in D-3. Derkson much better player, IMO.
  10. The laughing at 0:25 in this clip is priceless. I count 7 people in the student section for a Division I basketball game.
  11. Three straight 9th Region championships (1969, 1970, 1971), Derkson was the go-to player as a junior and senior. They had such balanced scoring on those teams, he wasn't needed to average 20 ppg. If he had taken as many shots as Ruthsatz, no telling how many points Derkson scores. His post-CovCath career included graduating as NKU's all-time leading scorer, a charter member of that school's hall of fame.
  12. You don't want Winston Bennett on anything that brands your school if this also takes into consideration his post-Louisville Male deeds. Griffith and Turner are no doubters. Osborne, meh.
  13. Here is a clip from last season at NKU in a home game. Look at the student section. Even the announcer makes fun of NKU's fan base. Look and listen. NKU loses to Oakland - Cincinnati News, FOX19-WXIX TV
  14. Bowman was a Southwestern Louisiana guy, right? Davis went to Southwest Missouri when Steve Alford was coach there. Went to a judo before going to SWSU with Alford. Big-time rebounder, Davis almost went to NKU with Moore and Talbert.
  15. NKU actually had a great crowd for this game in the video when they were D-2. Sad how moving to Division I killed NKU's fan base. lol
  16. Tony Davis and Reggie Talbert at Bryan Station?
  17. See this for LaRon Moore. Wow. Henry Clay to Bryan Station.
  18. Bobby Washington the all-time coach for Bryan Station?
  19. How about LaRon Moore? Led NKU in scoring and rebounding, two D-2 national runner-ups?
  20. For Newport: 1. John Turner (all-stater played at U of L) 2. Steve Fields (all-stater, 9th Region POY) 3. Fred Moeves (all-stater, played at UC) 4. Mitch McIntosh (avg. almost 20 rebs. per game as a senior) Coach: Stan Arnzen (Blue Foster a close No. 2)
  21. Big Dave Dixon (6-7, 240 pounds) from the 1981 state champ SK team, or Jeff Krohman might be up there. Billy Meier another name from the 81 state champs.
  22. Derkson should be No. 1. Turney was much better than either Listerman, he played at Marshall.
  23. Wow, defensive reply. Derkson was a great CovCath player and a charter member of NKU's Hall of Fame. Was NKU's all-time leading scorer, Mote Hils said he was best player he coached at CovCath.
  24. No Don Turney? He played D-1 basketball and was a dominant big man in the 9th Region. What about Steve Berling?
  25. No Richard Derkson in the top 4? How?
