Mason shot 61% in the first half on 14-23 from the floor. (6-10 from 3 pt range) and 54% for the game 26-48 from the floor and 9-22 from 3. Big stat that jumps out at me was Mason turned it over 14 times to just 6 for South Laurel.

The way I understood it there would be an A1 and an A2, then a AA1 and AA2 then a 3A1 and a 3A2. Three classes with two divisions. I am sure there will be some tweaking done to this idea.

Although I was disappointed in the outcome of this one I can truthfully say that was one of the better games I have seen in a long time. I have seen pictures of The Rock but it is a nice facility. Hard to believe that it nearly 30 years old. ALL the folks rolled out the red carpet for us (WFTM). I assume it was the AD that met us at the gate and directed us to the press box, the PA guy and of course the broadcast crew there at Rockcastle were more than nice. Just a great bunch of folks from the get go. Now to the game. Stalsworth is a very nice back and I liked Burkhart alot also. Burkhart made some really good decisions and the O-Line gave him TONS of time to throw. The field goal at the end never had a chance. It was blocked and Browning was not able to get his plant foot down to strike the ball cleanly. But all told it should not have come down to that. Mason had their chances but Rockcastle was able to make the plays when they had to. This Rocket team has kind of flown under the radar a bit if you ask me. They could give Ashland fits next week. That should be a good game at Putnam. As far as Mason is concerned, and I mean no disrespect to the Royals in no way, I think they over-achieved this season. This team played with an incredible amount of heart. Grutza, Lofton and Myrick were awesome but this may be one of my favorite Mason County teams because what they lacked in ability they made up for in desire. 7-4 is nothing to be ashamed of especially when 7 of Mason's 10 regular season opponents made the post-season. Good luck Rockets next week and congratulations on a nice win. You have a class program you can be proud of. Also it was nice to meet 3 Wishes tonight.
