It is funny to me and kind of sad that most people including myself have completely overlooked the fact that SK is playing Conner this week not Trinity or Male or Scott County, etc. my apologies to the fans from both teams for getting caught up in the crap. Makes perfect sense. But remember when people that lived in Kenton County who wanted to give their kids the best chance would move to Beechwood school district or go to Cov Cath? Simon is benefiting from the housing boom in Independence and there doesn't appear to be any chance of being landlocked any time soon so I expect to see SK only improve.

That would be a little extreme especially considering the golf teams down that way are monsters! Just like anything else if Nky teams keep swinging (and be ready to take a good shot in the meantime) they will get there. Baby steps and patients.

I would have to check again but the birds lost to all 6 A schools in Nky last year but one but played the same amount of games as the might pioneers. Simon lost by 12 to Lafayette and Highlands by 10 to P County. So if the only beat one this year I guess that means another good playoff run with state championship implications against BG.

Sk is a victim of its own success. None of the regular season game but one are anything to get worked up about because Simon at this point is expected to win all of their regular season games. The elite programs around the state go out of their way to book teams they have a chance to fall to. I don't think it's Sk 's fault. They are very good and most of the teams local enough to have a good fan base follow are not as good. The worst thing about success is you really become relevant and news worthy when you drop a game to a team you should have dominated.

I have been looking at this for about a day, im still not sure why it is a laughing matter. I would think the 6 A teams would be happy if the birds only beat one of them this year. It's like you are saying "alright, now we have one more thing that separates us from our fathers and older brothers" (insert celebratory high five here)

Perfect storm, birds beat Cooper, camels beat birds, NCC beats camels but looses to Cooper equals SK winning a state title. Or something like that.

I'll take a stab at the outcome. If the birds score 28 and come up with three turnovers....they will win in a close one.

Leave Ohio across that god forsaken puddle. And the birds haven't shown this year that they cannot play with the big schools. A track meet with Cooper, last second field goal in a lack luster performance at CC. Let's wait and see how this week and the next few go before the towel is thrown in.

Is it really a good idea to stop playing teams just because they are beating you? The 6 A teams they play that are local should be making them better for district play. If highlands switches to playing smaller local teams the experience won't be the same in most cases. If they play similar size schools around the state they have to travel farther. I admit that right now it's not ideal and not what people are used to seeing but i think it is still the best way to prepare them for a run at a state title. BG isn't getting any smaller

I for one am very familiar with those steep bleachers. But in my day (I feel old) Mr Marty Meyer was the only one that utilized them for their unintended purpose. And the track team was always better for it. That and those God aweful stadium laps!

I voted for them to win. If they clean it up, execute and keep big plays to a minimum on defense they can win. Gonna take a Herculean effort from the offensive line this week. If the birds can't control the clock and put together long drives with the running game it will be a long night. But they can win.

I'd say how CC looked in their first two games. Honestly, they good running back who will lay it on you as well as run around you, I hate to say it but the kicking game is okay! I would be concerned that they had the birds scoreless in the first half then gave up 21 points in the second. One or two plays (or calls)go the other way and it's a different ending. CC defense is good and anyone that says different is blind. They need to be able to adjust to adjustments and finish.

so now it's a coach change, a qb change, crickets in fort Thomas, their closing down the pub and 915, burning down the mess hall, dale will be coaching the volleyball team next year...am I missing anything

It would be tough to justify a qb change before getting into district play. Bringing in a new guy two weeks before you get into games that actually count toward the post season seems fishy. How much experience are you going to gain when the teams you are going to be facing in the short run are very capable of shutting down most offenses completely, no matter who is the qb.

I'd love to see this one get pushed into overtime. Birds need to slug it out to show the other 5 A schools they are for real, Cooper wasn't a flash in the pan and CC was a shot in the foot. Hanging with another true 6 A powerhouse team would be a huge turnaround and confidence builder
