Highlands would ask to play wherever CCH is playing. Plus, there would be a lot more travel involved playing 4A ball. It would be a different story if Cooper and Conner didn't move away.

Not to your satisfaction. The only answer anyone can give you is that it's an interesting issue. Especially, since Cooper has been doing well recently, played tough against a 5A school, and laid an egg against a 6a school. So, it's a fair question whether it was the right decision and who made it. Maybe the question can't be answered. Neither can the question posed in every game prediction thread. But, when an advocate for one of the teams involved is running around yelling at everyone to move along, it becomes even more interesting.

Maybe that was the rationale for playing up. They aren't winning anyway, so why not get all our schools in the same class.

Don't know who specifically made the request to play up for Cooper. Borchers made the proposal to the KHSAA for the 6A alignment.

Cooper and Conner asked to play up. Boone was asked to move lower, but it declined. So, Boone is also treated as requesting to play up. Cooper and SK wanted the KHSAA to realign the 6A tournament so that there would be 4 eight team regions with the 2 lowest ranked of the 10 Louisville schools playing in the NKY region. The Cooper SK proposal would have allowed the NKY 6A teams to play the Lexington 6A teams for a spot in the final. WKY and 8 of the Louisville schools would battle it out for the other spot.

So far this year, Cooper has done well in 5A but has done poorly in 6A. HHS has played all 6A teams -- remember, they are in 5A. Whatever you are trying to pitch about HHS playing up just makes no sense.

I assume Gosney didn't play in this game since he started last night?

Highlands would move up to 10A if that's where Cov Cath played.

I think that's a great idea. Frankly, it's better than the older guys trying to live a dream on Friday nights. In particular, "First Doooooowwwwwn. Knights!"
