Strawman, implementing longer waiting periods without a fully supporting the background system will not work.

I would have no problems with this, however I highly doubt it would get passed court. I just don't see how a law abiding citizen would have to wait.

Because we haven't fully funded the background system. Adding more laws are not going to do a thing if we actually don't properly fund it. Essentially, what i'm saying Deuce is that adding more laws is not going to work if we don't actually implement them.

There is no evidence to show that longer background checks are more thorough. Also, how could it not be about safety? If the background check system is poorly funded and it is, a longer background check is going to do nothing.
