  1. Holmes is pretty awesome! I think they are the toughest team in NKY this season and will represent NKY well in the tourney.
  2. Once the play is stopped to grant a timeout, the only choice the coach has is 30 second or full timeout. If there are no more timeouts, then the technical is granted but the coach can still talk to their players like an actual timeout is called, but they lose posession. The coach can not cancel a timeout.
  3. St Henry is struggling but the season is not over and they still have time to get it together and make a strong district run. Especially since Dixie will either show up to play or show up to chill.
  4. Once the player has the ball, the timeout should not be granted and the coach should be ignored until the FT has been shot, then the ref can grant the coach the timeout before the second free throw or right after the final free throw. There have been times where one ref has granted the time out, while not watching to see if the player even has the ball. In that case, the other ref will stop the play and ask for the ball back from the shooter to grant the time out.
  5. Holmes is on a mission and i dont think there is anyone left to stop them in the regular season. You can say every team is on a mission, but Holmes is a few missed shots from being perfect.
  6. When Dixie decides to box out and match the intensity of every other team they play, then they will not lose as much. The reaction of their coaches are priceless every time they turn the ball over.
  7. You can have a pivot foot as well, but you can pick that pivot foot up as long as you are within a 3 foot space from the left to right. You can back up as fas as you need even if it is 5 feet backwards.
  8. Basically you can move both your feet and even jump up to throw a pass in bounds. You just can not run the baseline outside of a 3 foot area when handed the ball.
  9. Got it! sweet!
  10. 9. Traveling Out of Bounds A. Any out of bounds play other than after a made basket – The person taking the ball out of bounds must stay within a three foot area of the place where the referee administers them the ball. The person inbounding the ball may move both feet, however, if they step beyond the three feet area, it is a violation. B. After made baskets – When a basket is made, the opposing team may “run” the entire baseline when trying to inbound the ball. This includes returning from a time out. The ball may also be passed to a teammate who is positioned entirely out of bounds on the baseline and there is no violation.
  11. I bet refs will start watching the foot more now after they read this. Usually they hand the ball to the player, and turn to start the count and watch the drama that unfolds as the passer tries to inbound the ball. The passer usually will fake high and pass low while moving a foot in the process.
  12. I threw that in since i've seen a foot move occasionally without ever being called on a lot of inbound plays after the refs says "hold your spot". So maybe the pivot foot is acceptable even though it is not allowed.
  13. Anytime a basket is made (this includes free throws), the baseline can be ran. Even if a timeout is taken or delay of game for any reason after a basket is made, the baseline can still be ran. Any other time, the baseline passer must maintain a pivot foot.
  14. The polls are more fun for the grown ups haha.
  15. Ive been on for a while, just going with a new name for the new year.
