  1. Murray has not had all their skill players since the first quarter vs Calloway. They didn't have all if them back last week (as was mentioned) and won't have them all this week either. However QB miles is doing much better and RB/DB Britt came back vs Marshall Co and gave a much needed boost
  2. Good win for Graves but don't get too excited yet. Miles played but was not 100%. Didn't take a snap until Thursday. He also starts at safety. Britt was out. He plays rb/db (leads team with 3 INT in 2 games). Glynn rb/db (team's leading scorer) was hurt in the first quarter and didn't return. Murray's 3 fastest players were out or not 100%. Graves is a solid hard-hitting club but will struggle when playing teams with speed: Mayfield, Owensboro and Tilghman (already happened with Hoptown).
  3. I'd say you're more "eligible" than "invited" at the regional level (I know, splitting hairs . I was speaking mainly about the state tournament; you have to earn your way in. I know it's not sanctioned by the KHSAA so it's not an "official" state championship. The winner is actually just a "Statewide Basketball Tournament Champion", or " State Champ" for short. Sort of like a NAIA national champ compared to a NCAA D1 champ
  4. Also it's not an invitational. Teams have to win a regional championship to qualify (the only championship some of the teams will ever have a chance to win). It creates a somewhat level playing field and a team has to win 6-7 games to be champion. Granted some of the games are blowouts, but those occur in the bigger tourneys as well. Does anybody discount Highlands' and Bowling Green's football championships since they didn't play against Trinity/St X in the championship game?
  5. I'll take any tournament that features a championship game that pairs a 19-3 team with a 22-2 one for state bragging rights.
  6. Thank you for you answer. Ponies and Mustangs do get along well :thumb:
  7. According to the same article you referenced earlier, the 5th foul did spark the comeback according to the team. Regardless, the main question I posed is "why is the ref called the Sandman?". Just looking for an answer to that
  8. Enough to take the best player off the floor? If you were standing 10 ft from it and saw, and it was your team, you'd disagree. Good refs know when to check their ego and issue an warning. But hey, thanks to the guy. He ticked off the team and sparked the comeback.
  9. Hey Lawnboy I saw in your game thread where you posted that Waldrop got T'd up by the "Sandman." Does this ref have a reputation or something? I had noticed him the day before just prancing around the arena like a show pony. Then I saw his theatrics making calls. Waldrop's technical was one of the weakest I've ever seen. That ref definitely wants the attention on him
  10. Does Mercy play in the All A? I heard they might be. I didn't think they have in the past and I see where they're in the LIT on the 27th. Thanks
