  1. Greenwave D rises up on 4th and 2. Meade takes over on downs.
  2. Short drives by both teams shut down by good defense. 0-0 1st qtr.
  3. On my way to the game and gladly will post updates. Thanks for the thread.
  4. Thanks for the positivity Purple, as we need some going forward to play the Meade Co. freshmen next week. We were healthy when we beat BG and they are really good. Attrition has taken it's toll on our kids and we have found a lack of depth. We played a really tough schedule and hopefully it will benefit our kids in the future.
  5. Hoss, it was 7-0 at halftime and 28-0 final. Our kids had 6 turnovers and a blocked punt for a touchdown. 4 turnovers were in the redzone. JH has much better speed than St. X and comparable lines, meaning both are very good. We got several kids hurt or injured in that game, as we have 8 playing both sides of the ball and St. X only had 2, along with several capable backups.

  7. I watched the game from the Central Hardin side and must say that the offensive and defensive lines won the game for JH. #3 Steven Livers was great at cornerback and had some good runs on offense. Witherspoon is a work in progress at QB and he got hurt late in the 3rd quarter. He didn't return to the game, but hopefully he is okay.He was limping a bit, but still able to walk without assistance. #25 for JH had several good runs behind huge holes created by the offensive line. #12 for JH also took proper advantage of good blocking and scored on a great run. Not too many highlights from my side, as it seems we didn't respond well following the pounding we took on Saturday at the hands of St. X and their 96 players dressed for the game.
  8. CH is strong up front on both sides and has good talent at skill positions. Their best wingback/corner is out with injury as is the starting safety. Fullback Xavier Arnette is getting D1 attention and has great potential, as he is only a junior. This CH team is far better than last year and will get the chance to prove it against Meade next week. Pass defense is a vulnerability right now and the kicking game needs work. Coach Mattingly is excellent and the Meade County influence he has brought to the program was much needed. Those boys up in Meade Co. define toughness and defense every season. CH is second tier right now, below Male, Scott Co., Trinity and St. X. However, that's no insult because those teams are loaded with talent and tradition.
  9. Collins fans were hospitable and the facility is top shelf all the way. Their defense is pretty good and passing game is as well. They're well coached and have a great kicking game, which will win many close games. We (Central Hardin) are a really good 6A team, so don't give up on your Titans. The bad weather benefitted our boys, as we are a smash mouth team with an excellent run defense and an average pass defense. Good luck to the Titans the rest of the way.
  10. Thank you, and I hope you're able to catch a freshman game. The BG quarterback is good too. I watched Central Hardin freshmen beat BG 49-42, but only because they had the ball last and offense ruled the game.
  11. The running back #24 for Bowling Green is the real deal. I think his name is J'son Beason. John Crow RB/OLB #36 for Central Hardin has exceptional speed and power. I've seen the Witherspoon kid play many times and he is talented, but his behavior on the field indicates a need for discipline. I'm hopeful that someone coaching or mentoring him is able to convey the importance of humility and a team concept. I saw the Wellman and Varney(great name) kids play in middle school and must agree with Padd4Pirate. Talented, tough and well disciplined football players.
