Not much good to say about the Titans other than they blocked an XP and a punt.

It is very painful to watch. They really have no threat to score at any position, or really move the ball for that matter. To be fair, they did lose all of their skill players from last year and their running back is a freshman, but they have had very poor play from their offense all year long.

 

Their defense really isn't that bad but they spend almost the entire game on the field.

Stats:

 

Central Hardin had 389 yards rushing on 50 attempts and was 1-4 passing for 51 yards with 1 TD and 1 INT.

 

Collins rushed 18 times for 12 yards and was 15-30 passing for 181 yards with 1 TD and 1 INT.

 

Blanton Creque hit a 37 yard FG for the Titans in the 2nd quarter.

Bad news for Collins if they get Owensboro in playoffs...I would guess CH is comparable

Collins fans were hospitable and the facility is top shelf all the way. Their defense is pretty good and passing game is as well. They're well coached and have a great kicking game, which will win many close games. We (Central Hardin) are a really good 6A team, so don't give up on your Titans. The bad weather benefitted our boys, as we are a smash mouth team with an excellent run defense and an average pass defense. Good luck to the Titans the rest of the way.

How good is CH? Are they improved from last years team? Have they closed the gap between them and Meade or have they surpassed them? Do they have the talent to compete for a title? What are there strengths/weaknesses? Anyone with some insight on them that could share some info, would be much appreciated.

Thanks. CH is. Good 6A team. Game next week should be. Good one vs Meade. Blue, collins just got their butt beat by a big ole team last night. CH came out after halftime and just drove the ball behind that big ole line. Kept the ball away from collins which I think only ran 6 plays in 3rd quarter. Collins ended up just running out of gAs but moved the ball in 4th and just couldn't punch it in. Owensboro is good but doesn't have that size. N Old is all collins has to think about in 2 weeks. They have Wagner next week which will give them a chance to work on some things. Still a lot of football to play don't give up on the Titans just yet Blue.

They don't throw the ball that well and kicking game isn't much. With coach coming over from Meade should help. Should be good one.

CH is strong up front on both sides and has good talent at skill positions. Their best wingback/corner is out with injury as is the starting safety. Fullback Xavier Arnette is getting D1 attention and has great potential, as he is only a junior. This CH team is far better than last year and will get the chance to prove it against Meade next week. Pass defense is a vulnerability right now and the kicking game needs work. Coach Mattingly is excellent and the Meade County influence he has brought to the program was much needed. Those boys up in Meade Co. define toughness and defense every season. CH is second tier right now, below Male, Scott Co., Trinity and St. X. However, that's no insult because those teams are loaded with talent and tradition.

Tommy -Owensboro has a huge O-line this year, 310, 295,250,340, 310. The tackles are 6-6 and 6-4, the right guard is 6-3. This is the strength of Owensboro this year.

Arnette is a load and his offensive line helps him out a lot. He was very impressive and Collins had no one that could stop him.

 

Collins played a 2-year series with Meade and they were always very physical with a very tough defense and this year is no different. I was a bit surprised at how badly Meade beat CH last year. I would love to see the two play each other next week. I think it will be a great game and most likely low scoring. You have to think Central has a real shot, especially at home.

At some point, everyone is going to have to come to grips with the fact that Collins lost a boat load of 3rd year starters, two DIA signees and a phenomenal QB from last year. If Collins does make it to the Semi's to meet Obro, it will: (A) be a testament to how bad that Region is this year and (B) be a running clock.
