  1. I don’t know much about Hart County and haven’t seen them play. They like to run it and play good defense which is exactly what FS wants to do as well. My question is what type of speed does Hart have? FS has won against bigger teams by outrunning them, and their loss against Greenwood was largely because the Gators had the speed to catch them from behind. Comparing scores doesn’t always tell the whole story, but I will listen to the people who watched Glasgow play both teams and pick FS 27-21.
  2. I think the simplest fix would be to add the provision that if the RPI matches up 2 district foes in a later playoff round, that the host should be the team that placed higher in their common district.
  3. Dixie Heights Ryle Johnson Central Franklin-Simpson Logan County Bonus-Campbellsville
  4. FS has won this year largely due to their quick, aggressive defense forcing turnovers and with a little more balanced than usual offensive attack. Greenwood gave FS a dose of their own medicine tonight. The Wildcats fumbled away two first half possessions to trail 14-0 at the half. They got an interception and outscored the Gators in the second half and had two chances to tie or take the lead in the fourth quarter but Greenwood held them off. TelTel Long had some big plays for the Gators as expected. I figured all season this would probably be a loss but it was a much closer game than I thought it could have been. On to the big 3A District 2 championship game next week at home for FS against undefeated Hart County.
  5. Final score Greenwood wins 27-16. FS couldn’t overcome its slow start and Greenwood made big defensive stops late when they needed them.
  6. Gators get the first down on a pitch to Long. 2 minutes left. And Long caps it off with a 30 yard TD run up the middle. PAT no good. Greenwood 27-16 with 1:54 to go.
  7. FS with only one timeout left. A first down here will probably wrap it up.
  8. Gator defense steps up with a big sack. Greenwood ball at the FS 45. Gators up 21-16 with 3:33 left.
  9. Snap goes over the Gator QBs head and out of the back of the end zone. Safety for FS. Greenwood 21-16 with 5:53 to go.
  10. 4th and goal at the 6 after 3 short runs. Timeout FS. Gators up 21-14 with 7:03 to go.
  11. Dickerson to Link again on a 4th down play for a 12 yard FS TD. Greenwood 21-14 with 3 seconds to go in the third.
  12. Gator QB under duress and throws it up where Link intercepts it for FS and takes it to the Gator 43
  13. Gators answer with a long TD pass on 3rd and 15. Greenwood 21-7 at 5:26 in third. FS can’t get off the field on third down.
  14. FS starts the second half with a drive ending with a 15 yard TD pass from Mathias Dickerson to I think it was Hatcher Link. Was a 4th and 5 play. Greenwood 14-7 with 7:48 in third.
  15. Halftime Greenwood leads 14-0. FS had two possessions in the first half not counting a kneel down with 2 seconds to go. Fumbled both times in Greenwood territory. Wildcats moving the ball but can’t hold on to it. Gators driving the ball methodically and converted a couple of long down and distance situations on their first drive. FS is playing in a homecoming game for the fourth game in a row. FS’s first, then at Butler County, at Glasgow and now at Greenwood. That must be some kind of record. The streak will end next week at home.
  16. FS driving at the Gator 20 and fumble a double handoff on a play that looked awful from the beginning. Gators recover at their own 24. FS getting beat at their own game so far.
  17. Long with a 4 yard TD run and Greenwood converts the turnover by FS into a 14-0 lead. 9:05 in second.
  18. FS drove into Greenwood territory but a good tackle from behind forced a fumble and Greenwood returned it to the FS 32.
  19. QB scrambles and finds TelTel Long for the 14 yard TD. Greenwood 7-0 at 4:16 in first.
