I figured this would be a closer game than most expected. FS just doesn’t have much size in the defensive line and it showed last night. Their defensive philosophy is to sit back and play zone and hope you make a mistake by having to make several plays to score instead of one big play. FS has been pretty good at forcing turnovers but not last night. We have two huge sophomore linemen but they rarely play defense. They anchor the offensive line and I understand that the coaches are trying to keep them from getting too tired to block late in games. FS will have to win high-scoring games which has worked out ok so far. East put forth a great effort. If they had run the ball more in the first half they may have won the game. Isable had some great escapes and made some good throws to keep drives alive. Lee absolutely shredded the FS defense in the second half. They have come a long way from the years when we could automatically count on the Warren East game as a win for FS. It’s become a good rivalry game. I hate that they have had turmoil in their coaching situation, but they responded very well last night.

Wildcats recover the onside kick and proceed to run out the rest of the clock. Final score FS wins 42-36. FS made a couple of stops in the first half and that was the difference in the game.
