Blake McPherson was on his way to a 70 yard TD run but the defender caught him inside the 5 and he fumbled the ball out of the end zone. Touchback and East takes over at their own 20.

The only common opponent so far for these teams has been Warren Central. FS beat WC by 35 and WC beat East by 13. The Dragons played FS very closely in the first half before FS pulled away in the third quarter. East playing Greenwood as close as they did makes me think they could give FS a better challenge than some may expect. The Raiders will no doubt be up for this game as it has turned into a pretty good rivalry the last few years. Calloway may have caught East a little off guard as Calloway has not been good for a while. FS is starting 3 sophomores on the offensive line, and they have improved a lot during the season. It helps that the 2 sophomore tackles each go about 6’3” or 6’4” and about 300 pounds. FS hasn’t had size like that for a while. FS runs a lot of zone defense so they tend to give up several yards but have been good at getting takeaways, particularly in the red zone. I will be surprised if FS doesn’t win but I think it will be close for a while.

Wildcats had a brief lead at 7-6 halfway through the second quarter after a pick six. PT moved the ball consistently all night but hurt themselves with penalties and FS forced 3 turnovers. FS offense was slow to get going but finally did late in the first half. They came up short inside the PT 5 just before the half and then got to the Tornado 24 to start the second half but couldn’t score. PT then began to pull away and returned an FS fumble late in the third to really seal it. Both teams scored in the fourth quarter. PT’s last score was with 20 seconds left when most teams would have been taking a knee by that point. FS is just too one dimensional to beat the best 4A teams. Tilghman has the potential to repeat but their mistakes may be their undoing against better competition.

Final score Tilghman wins 35-14.

FS fumbles a double handoff and PT picks it up and returns it for the TD. PT leads 28-7 with 9 seconds left in the third.

Quick drive by PT and Crowe has his second 1 yard QB sneak TD. PT leads 21-7 at 3:01 in third. FS had two good drives deep in Tornado territory but couldn’t score. Now they have their work cut out for them.

FS stalls out at the PT 24. Pass knocked away in the end zone. FS did finally complete their only pass of the night on that drive.

FS starts at their own 36.

FS had a TD run called back on a penalty on that last drive. They had driven down inside the PT 5 but came up empty. They cut it too close on time and had to rush to get off the field goal attempt. That was the only offensive drive that looked good for FS so far. PT had moved the ball all night, but they had I think 2 and maybe 3 TDs called back on penalties and had 2 turnovers. I’m a little surprised it is still this close. FS gets the ball to start the second half.

PT answers quickly. Stone Crowe with a 1 yard QB sneak TD. Conversion pass to Avery Thompson. PT 14-7 at 3:58 in second.

Pick six by Brady Delk of FS. 97 yards for the Wildcats. FS leads 7-6 at 6:00 in second.

FS only gets one first down and a short punt goes out of bounds at the 50.

Wildcats recover a fumble on their own 19.

End first quarter PT leads 6-0. Tilghman has it 1st and 10 at the FS 33.

Chance McPike had the PT TD run. Then PT recovers the onside kick at midfield. FS was not prepared for that.

58 yard TD run for PT. He was bottled up in the backfield but escaped and went all the way. Tilghman goes for two after an offsides penalty. Dropped snap and the conversion is no good. PT 6-0 at 52 seconds in the first.
