  1. I miss FS being able to hang with BG every once in a while. FS beat BG four times in the 90's--91,94 and twice in 99 including a 14-0 shutout in the playoffs, but that was FS's last win against the Purples. BG has always been really good as far as I can remember, never imagined they would be as good as they are now. I think the last competitive game between the two was when Courtney Dalcourt was FS's QB, BG won 49-34. I kind of miss the series between the two, but it's not much of a rivalry if it's one-sided. As far as the Greenwood game, I think FS should win, but this series has had a lot of ups and downs. A few years ago, Greenwood came to FS and won about 35-6, then the next year FS won at Greenwood 56-0. If FS continues to play smart, disciplined football, they will be hard to beat.
  2. FS rolls in this one...Logan did score against the first string defense...QB made a nice throw with a defender at his ankles, Logan's receiver caught it in the middle of the secondary, the defender got turned around and the receiver beat him to the end zone. Just about the only bright spot for the Cougars. FS youngsters continue to impress with a couple of one play drives and some more nice work in the passing game. FS had a few more penalties than last week, mostly in the second half. Cody Uhls stood out for the Wildcats, made a great catch on the first TD and 11 tackles on defense. Billups, Groves, Robey and others with several good runs, Colton Hurt looking good throwing the ball. Defense was stout against the run, several times they got in Logan's backfield at or before the handoff.
  3. Probably a little bit of both. FS is pretty young, but didn't play like it. It was one of the most well-disciplined games FS has played in a while, very few penalties. Graves had a few costly penalties that negated big plays, and they committed a pass interference on a 3rd and long in the 3rd quarter that led to an FS TD. FS led most of the way except for a brief 10-7 lead by Graves at the end of the 1st.
  4. Biggest difference in this game and last year's was the passing game. Game last year was tied at the half, then Graves started throwing it deep and FS couldn't stop them, Graves won by 28. This year Graves passing game just wasn't as good, they hit a few short passes but never really got going. The rushing game seemed better, and their kicker is excellent. He hit 2 field goals from about 40 yards, and most kickoffs went in the endzone. FS passing game is better, they only tried about 5-6 passes a game last year, and they threw it probably 10-12 times Friday. Honestly, without Crider, the game probably wouldn't have been close. He was a monster on both sides of the ball.
