  1. Nice call on the score Old D... thanks for the recap.
  2. Agree 100%.... Would love to hear how some of the best teams/players around the state are doing.
  3. Both teams have been consistently scoring against good competition. It would be nice if they reported stats so you could see how their scoring is distributed. For example, PLD's Ricki Clemente was their leading scorer last year as a sophomore with 25. Is he playing well and scoring this year also? KHSAA promotes posting stats for the benefit of the kids (and theoretically imposes a fine per game that you don't report stats you otherwise keep). Does PLD really not keep track of goals and assists?
  4. Against KY opponents, Trinity is 9-0 and has allowed only 2 goals with 7 clean sheets. I'd love to see an upset, but I'm thinking it'll be more like Trinity 3-0.
  5. How bad does it feel to Mercy Rule a team twice in a year? Ugh.
  6. 2-0 as NCC gets focused on what they do best... defend tenaciously and take their opportunities on counters, corners and corner-like throw-ins.
  7. I'll go with Ryle 2 North Oldham 1... I think the NO starting GK (Seth Junion) is out and that'll prove the difference.
  8. I love the energy and creativity the student section brings to the game. The "Batman" razing the CCH student section kept giving the ball boy on their side at the HHS game may have been intimidating (apparently he was wearing Batman socks). But not sure it affected the outcome on the field.
  9. So... Great win NCC!!! Who scored? Any notes on the game?
  10. St Henry and Lex Cath are only separated by 0.85 "Maher points." 3 of St Henry's 4 losses came at home... 4 of Lex Caths 5 losses came away. Maher gives more weight to an away result than a home result. That may help explain the difference. I'd say anything within less than 1 Maher point puts teams in similar standing. CCH is less than 1 point out of the top ten and I'd say CCH is a top 10 team in KY, but you can disagree with me if you think I'm wrong. I like the Maher system... to each their own.
  11. No offense taken. Awesome for Scott then. I thought I might have missed one. I'm sure any NKY team that breaks the top ten will happily recognize that the Maher rankings have, at that point, become meaningful. I hope it happens soon. A rising tide floats all ships.
  12. ...I'm saying those three teams hopefully are knocking on the door to break the top ten,,,
  13. Nice win NCC! Woodford County was ranked #7 in Maher rankings. First win this year by a NKY team over a Maher Top Ten ranked opponent? Hopefully the way CCH, Scott and Cooper are playing there will be more local chances (I only said chances) for NKY teams to beat a local Top Ten team in the next couple of weeks.
  14. Holy smokes. Awesome video of Fischer's goal... how many of his other three goals are from dead balls?
  15. Maher #2 over Maher #8... might be the bump Trinity needs to get back on top of PLD.
  16. I know, I know... the foul was initiated outside the area...
  17. Fouls committed just inside the penalty area shall be deemed to have occurred just outside the penalty area when, in the opinion of the referee, it would be a harsh result to award a PK for the particular foul.
  18. Someone referred to the first part of this rule on throw-ins in a prior post, but the full unwritten rule, I think, goes as follows: #6. When the center and AR are properly positioned, but do not see who last touched the ball when it exited the touchline: #6a. Except as provided in 6c and 6d, the throw-in is awarded to the team that first first reacts like the throw belongs to them, #6b. Thereafter, the official alternates the award of uncertain throws. #6c. If it's in the final third of the field, the throw-in is awarded to the defensive team, #6d. When, in the opinion of the referee, one team has constantly questioned the referee's calls, the referee, at his or her discretion, may award the throw-in to the other team. #6e. Each time rule #6 is applied in a game, there will be at least a dozen fans of the team not awarded the throw-in who clearly saw the ball comes off the other team, #6f. Notwithstanding rule #6c, if a goal is scored from the run of play immediately following throw-in, multiple posts to BGP are warranted. #6g. If the center and AR were out of position, one of the posts pursuant to #6f is required to be from OTB84.
  19. Sounds like Assumption was a very good team. HHS will regroup and get back at it. Hopefully their parents and fans will continue to cheer them on, encourage them to play their best and not sow seeds of discontent.
  20. Not sure the 3-4-3 hurt CCH as much defensively as it just didn't help offensively. The defensive breakdowns were garden variety small group defensive lapses on a couple of plays. I'd play 4 in the back because it appears to suit the CCH offense better. I'd play Parker Kenny in the back to tighten up ship defensively. Hard to get beat if you keep a clean sheet (excepting, of course, those dreaded PK tie-breakers). As they're playing right now, I think both Scott and Cooper would match up well with CCH and make for great games.
  21. 8 games, one clean sheet. Move Parker Kenny back into back line?
