  1. I don't think anyone with the UofL athletic department has flatly denied the story entirely. Which is smart because something... unseemly... definitely went down. There's been a lot of "We're going to wait for the NCAA and Chuck Smrt to conclude their investigations and get all the facts in."

That guy needs to buy a vowel.

  2. Can you share other coaches who have committed similar transgressions and still have jobs? Is it just irony that UL employees 2 in the same athletic department? I'm perplexed as a strong, well respected women, that you can support those characters. Lousiville is Lousiville, it was there before these coaches and will be there long after they're gone.

So “strong and well respected” women cannot support the imperfect?

Can we not support our imperfect friends, family and co-workers? Or just not support imperfect college coaches? LOL

  3. Well the question we have all been waiting for. Who is the best. Obviously uk#1fan is a front runner, but throw out some potential candidates. Please be constructive.

I know goals are to get a like from Clyde.

But I recently received a like from uk#1fan, and was genuinely psyched. (Altho it's possible he was mocking my post with the like). LOL

  4. What is JSS?

And---I was waiting for her to puke up the turtle. (I almost did, watching her eat it.

Carol is one casserole cooking, cardigan wearing, butt kicking lady!!

After tonight's episode, if Morgan dies, I'm not sad.

The lady in charge of the place is stupid.

    LOL Hoops5! Love Carol! :thumb:

  5. There was a receiver within the area each time this happened. That's why the call was never made.

I never saw any intentional grounding on Golson's part. When you escape the pocket you can throw it away as long as the pass goes beyond the line of scrimmage. If he is in he pocket all he has to do is have a receiver in the area. I'm an FSU homer but I call it like I see it also. I never felt like he warranted an intentional grounding call. Smart QB play is what I saw.

If by “area” you mean within the stadium, I would agree.

It was one of those things that got on my nerves yesterday, compounded by a host of others. The Cards show promise for the future, but it sure is frustrating in the meantime.

  6. Several times the Cards D were close to sacking Golson but he threw the ball away to get out of it. In 2 to 3 cases I expected an intentional grounding call. Since the call was never made I figured the refs didn’t call it anymore, til I saw a different game later in the day and it was called.

I’ll admit I’m a homer UofL fan and it wouldn’t have changed the outcome of this game…. But just curious to neutral parties (i.e. you don’t love/hate UofL or FSU LOL) did you notice this – or not?

  7. Or maybe Deuce just has a life outside of his favorite college basketball team and it's legitimately not concerning to him....:idunno:

If it were happening at UK, I'd have about the same concern as Deuce does. Very minimal. It's not going to kill the program. Set it back a little bit? Maybe, but oh well.

Very nice post. Would guess that most Cards fans are here, certainly all of the ones I know.

  8. I would be concerned if it were my team involved. This is something that could set any major program back 10+ years if it turns out to be true.

I don't want it to be bad, personally. But I'm a realist. I had no interest in reading the book at first, but after a couple of players came out and made statements about it, I bought the book and am working my way through it. That said, I would be concerned if it were my team.

You seem pretty concerned anyway. LOL.

  9. Nothing. But as a fan, I would still be concerned. Damage has already been done. If the damage continues to progress, it could be crippling.

Sorry just can’t get that worried/upset/excited about that possibility. Even if there are penalties/sanctions/suspensions/new coach, pretty confident that UofL would rebound quickly.

  10. Is it bad that as a UofL fan I am not even “into” this whole scandal?

Not sure if I’ve become somewhat desensitized or what.

The only thing I would be really sad about is if the NCAA stripped us of the 2013 title. Honestly even if Pitino goes, life would go on… as much as I really like him (and hope he remains), a new coach may even breathe a bit more spunk into the program.

  11. Do or die for UL.

Nah…. Still time to get better, work toward the wins and a bowl game.

And as a fan (speaking only for myself), a loss does not drive me to the cliff’s edge. It’s been a weird season, but I still look forward to each game. It’s fun watching the new guys, especially the dynamo Lamar.

  12. The 1-3 Cardinals hit the road and take on their next tough assignment… NC State.

The Cards play NC State in Raleigh on Saturday Oct. 3 at 12:30pm. NC State is 4-0 and defeated prior opponents by an average of 34 points.

Will last week’s drumming of Samford bring confidence to the young Cardinal team? Do the Cards begin to find more consistency on both sides of the ball? How will Lamar do…. what kind of Freshman mistakes will we see, and what kind of brilliance? Who wins, and why?

    Go Cards!
