Well I am going to own up and eat my words. If you looked at that scoreboard from a non-spectators view then you would think is was a usual game for NCC. The Raiders had multiple oppurtunity to drive the ball down the field and control the clock. Of course stupid penalties, false starts, holding and personal fouls along with fumbles and interceptions beat the Raiders. NCC was fundamentally sound team and very discipline team. Personally I thought the two players who had the best games for Trimble was #7 and #75. These two battled all night with NCC players and left everything on the field for their final game. Best of Luck to NCC the rest of the season.

Even if they don't win, the future still looks bright and promising for Raider football.

I wanted to share this with you all because it touched my heart when I heard it the first time. This man today walks up to me and says " Are you going to watch Trimble County tomorrow night?" and I replied to the man "Hell yeah." Over the course of the conversation he began to tell me that his son wanted to play football next season. His dad ask him why and he said "I want to be like the Raiders who took on Carroll Co., and all of my friends do to. I want to play for Coach Franklin and go to the playoffs like the Raiders." After he told me that I felt proud to be a Raider, one game has inspired many to join in the game we love most of all. No matters what happens tomorrow night, this class has accomplished more than any of the other class before them. They have built the foundation of a program, and hopefully one day it will be just as good as NCC. Looking forward to this battle tomorrow night, and if NCC wins who care's, they're suppose to win, but if Trimble County does the impossible and pulls off the upset, then I could see a very bright future for Raider Football.

When you run the Power-I and Wishbone, the offense is designed to get 3-4 yards a gain each play. Trimble is slow a pace moving kind of team that controls clock and just mauls people. #75 is the road grader for the team, he does lack in speed, but the kid is smart enough to adjust to player who is faster or stronger. #63 is a mauler, that is why he is a guard, the offense is designed to move people out of the play. NCC is probably going to do the same thing that every other team on the schedule has done....Load the box up with 9 men and blitz the hell out of them. Let's just see what happens on Friday. This is what I love about football, everybody expects the top dog to win the game. Well I don't believe Trimble County can out run NCC, I don't believe that they are bigger than NCC, I don't believe they can out muscle NCC, and I definitely know that Trimble County doesn't have a rich history of football like NCC. The one thing that Trimble County does have is heart. The program was shutdown for a few years, but in 1996 Trimble County had football once again, and they have received some beat downs from teams like NCC. But the only advantage that I think TC has over NCC is the will to never quit and to never back down. Now today I went over to the County Park to watch football practice, and I saw those boys condition hard for 30 minutes running hills, flipping tires and knock the living day-lights out of each other. They continued on with practice to special teams, and then to offense, and it went very smoothly. Finally, the Raiders decided to scrimmage each other in a Blue and Gold scrimmage, and they were living it up, because for the 1st time in 6 years the Raiders are in the playoffs. The only problem is they have to face one of the best teams in the NKY. Well that's fine by me because these men finally breathed life into Trimble County when they took on arch rival Carroll County. That game came all the way down to final seconds and that crowd was on their feet cheering for the Raiders to win, largest crowd in Trimble County history, and unfortunately that game came down to judgment call by the referee. It was a heartbreaker, but the fans of Trimble County were still cheering because they found something to believe in for the next several years. Now enough rambling about the past, I believe with every ounce in my body that the Trimble County Raiders are going to put up a fight against the mighty NCC. Win or lose, I am proud to be Raider! Calling for the upset on Friday Night against NCC. Hope its a great game that everyone will talk about for the next 15 years!

Could this be the year we see a few schools fall in the first round and what schools do you think can pull off the upsets in Round 1?

Thank you, I have reviewed all the links and I feel just a little bit confident against their defense. Unfortunately, I do not like the matchup between our defense and NCC offense. When was the last time NCC got beat in the first round of the playoffs? Curious to know, that program has just been so dominate since 2000.

I keep seeing posts about field conditions, what is the problem with Holme's field? Weather could also come into play, saw a chance of snow on my radar this afternoon, so holding onto to the ball may be a factor.

What team is going to have toughest time competing in state playoffs this year, based on their position?

Umm you might be stretching it with Walton Veron in the state finals, they Newport on their side of the bracket in the opening two rounds(Newport defeated them in week 2) and if they make it past them then they will have to play most likely Newport Central Catholic unless a major upset happens. Finally, if Walton Verona makes it past the region they will have to travel to title town to most likely face Danville.........I don't like Walton Verona's odds in these matchups at all.

I like Newport in this matchup based on their season, coach Tim Browning could have a few surprises up his sleeve for Newport. I look for the score to be 42-7 Newport with the victory, but if Gallatin plays to their potential then the score could be 56-21 Newport still wins.

NCC vs Trimble Co., what is the prediction? 60+ on the Raiders and a running clock in the first half.... I don't think the score will be that high or a running clock in the first half. The Raiders will be facing their 2nd strongest opponent on the schedule this season, no offense Corbin is better, but I will no count the Raiders out. Strange things have happened in the playoffs in the past, and the road to Bowling Green is a long journey. If Trimble County comes out and runs the football against this Newport Central Catholic and just pounds it down there throat then I will put this game close in points but advantage still to NCC. The Raiders have never come out once this season and just pounded on a team with their running backs, because their head coach wants to be cute and run Play Action, Sweeps, Option, Counters and try to spread the ball out on teams with a lot more speed and discipline. If he decides, probably not, to come out and just pound on NCC with his 3 seniors running backs Wyatt Adkins, Bo Hawkes, and Dusty Wyssbrod and mix in runs with Seniors Brian Haney and Brandon Yowler then he will be successful. If he also follows his two seniors Offensive Lineman Logan Kunselman and David Marsh, instead of running counters and weak side away from them, then I could see at least 4 yards a carry each time. Senior Cade Thornsberry and juniors Joey Robinson and Tanner Halgarth are also excellent runner blockers when the defense begins to cheat to the strong side. Coach Franklin has the weapons up front to make things happen and in the backfield, but he needs he Quaterback TJ Payton to stay up and take charge of this offense when it matters most. If Coach Franklin does these things on the offensive side of the ball then Trimble County could make this a game. But if you want to win in the playoffs then you have to have a defense to back the offense up and shut down the opposing team. The Raiders have 5 defensive lineman who each make significant impacts the starters are Strong side David Marsh, Nose Guard Joey Robinson, and Weak side Logan Kunselman, substitutes Cade Thornsberry and Sophomore Corbin Thornsberry all provide strong run support inside of the tackles, but drop off against the pass rush when a team uses play action. Their solid defensive end Bo Hawkes provides one of the most consistent pass rushes for the team and he can run down most anybody in state of Kentucky, he sometimes tries to think way much and it causes a lapse in production at times, but always makes big plays when the team needs it. The hybrid defensive end/linebacker has been switched between Sophomore Trenton Hall and Junior Chris Weaver all year long, Weaver is a good solid player who is an adaptive player as the year goes on, don't exspect him to make the same mistake twice, Trenton is a physical force and has really made a major improvement from last year, he reads very well and can cover anybody in space coming out of the backfield, needs to stay healthy though. The linebackers Brian Haney and Brady Mahoney are good players in coverage, but don't step up in the hole when their defesive lineman are getting doubled. They do however make great reads and shutdown the option. The final group is the defensive backs. Corners Corey Chail and Brandon Yowler have improved all year long, Corey provides great run support, but slips i coverage sometimes. Brandon Yowler is probably one of the best shutdown corners on the team and is very physical on the line of scrimmage, he sometimes takes bad angles but always seems to find a way to make a tackle. The two safeties over the top Josh Harrison and Dusty Wysbrod play great coverage and provide solid run support, they both tend to give up a deep ball every once in a while, but rarely let anything come over the middle. The defesive front is solid but has a lot of faults. They have not played well against top ranked opponents but mostly due to the fact that the offense fumbles the ball way to much for any coaches liking. If this defense plays to the best of their ability and does everything possible to shutdown NCC then I could see an upset. These teams are not even by schedule, not even by size, and definitely not even by playoff history. Newport Central Catholic is one of the most dominant teams in the NKY and in the 2A. Automatically I would give the win no doubt to the more dominant team in the playoffs, but I think if Trimble County plays to their strengths then they can beat NCC. Go Raiders! Although I would hope TC would upset NCC, but their Head Coach doesn't ever run the same offense. The only time he does is when they are down or he decides to actually follow his big offense OLine. The RT is 350 the RG is 250 C is 225 LG 265 and LT is 275, and divides up the carriers between #7, #9, and #25. I know TC could play with them but the attitude and discipline isn't there. NCC blows them out most likely
