Walton Verona will face NCC in the regional champIonship, but NCC will beat them and go on to play for the state championship. WV can play with them for 3 quarters and after that NCC will surge.

Look here I said don't count Trimble out, Dusty Wysbrod #7 is the dual threat running back and has great hands like Walton Verona Will Latimore. Trimble County also has #25 Wyatt Adkins who hits the wholes hard like Mason Compton of WV, and TC has a 3rd running back #9 Bo Hawkes who can power his way and a little bit of speed, Bo is similar to the 3rd back Harvey who is unexpected runner sometimes. Gallatin also had a lot play for being it was their homecoming and I also stated Trimble needs to stop turning the ball over. Trimble had at least 5 fumbles in that game and that is why Trimbles record is the way it is because they turn the dag gon ball over way to much. They haven't had a game where they haven't fumbled at least 3x except Corbin but heck Corbin just dropped in the gun and unloaded the air raid on Trimble and only 1 first down was allowed because TJ Payton #11 dumped a pass off to Brady Mahoney #88. I know what your thinking this guy is crazy, but how can puny old Trimble County hang with power house Walton Verona for 48 minutes? Because Trimble plays with their hearts and never stops fighting back. I haven't found a game except Corbin that Trimble wasn't in and at Gallatin somehow the run heavy offense moves the ball with consecutive passes at Gallatin but falls short because TJ went to his favorite receiver, that he trusts, over the wide open deep route in the final :02. I just have faith in Trimble Co. and sometimes faith can be misguided but I truly believe Trimble is going to put up a dog fight against Walton.

I wouldn't count Trimble out just yet. The defense is pretty stout up front and the secondary is starting to come into their own. The offense however has got to stop fumbling the ball and committing stupid penalties! Now am I saying Trimble is going to walk into Walton Verona stadium and destroy them, no. But if Trimble takes care of the ball, forces turnovers they might come out with a win. I think these teams are fairly equal as far as running backs and receivers but the difference in the game will come down to the big guys up front on offense and defense. Which ever line comes out strong first will Win Friday's night games.

Correction their was a total of 5 touchdowns, one after the deep ball was a 25+ yard rushing TD by Wyatt Adkins

The score was 30-6, the Raiders came out and scored right off the bat #7 Dusty Wysbrod broke loose and was gone. The Raiders then shutout out Bracken on the first offensive drive, the Raiders then took over again and scored off a dump pass from #11 TJ Payton over to #88 Brady Mahoney. Once again the Raiders shut down Bracken Co. offense. The next drive the Raiders drove it down the field and through a deep ball to #88 Brady Mahoney but it was tipped and then caught by #9 Bo Hawkes for another TD. Bracken would take over for one final drive before halftime and would move the ball but couldn't get near the end zone. After Halftime Bracken came out and threw the ball and moved it up the field for a TD. The raiders responded with several runs and a strong push by Sophomore RB #23 Josh Harrison for TD. After this score there would be very little action except for some big hits. Outside of scoring plays the two guys I liked that are kinda behind the scenes are #60 Cade Thornsberry and #75 David Marsh, these men kept getting up field and making huge blocks to give their backs extra few yards. One bad thing to note is that there was to many penalties, I counted at least 6 personal fouls and multiple missed calls by the refs that could really cost the Raiders. Also I saw the Raiders excercising a lot substitutions on the field which help the coaching staff give every man on the team a chance to play. Finally, one of my favorite parts was the attitude that the Raiders Defense came out with, it was straight forward in attacking the offense and forcing the QB to make quick reads. The Raiders travel to Jackson Co. this week. Last year the Generals went 6-5 with a loss to Belfry in the first round of the playoffs. The Raiders lost to the Generals 26-14 in a very competitive matchup. This year the Generals have have 12 seniors(via roster online) and the Raiders have 13 seniors. This should be a very interesting matchup.

Trimble County will play Bracken Co. tomorrow at Bracken Co. The scrimmage will begin at 6:30. Finally we will get to see the Raiders in action, Bracken went 2-9 last season with a playoff berth but would lose to Beechwood in the first round. Should be a very exciting scrimmage between the two teams. Let's Go Raiders! Also the field is almost complete but still unsure if they will host Clinton Co. at home in two weeks.

Awesome, I went by the park the other day and saw about 40 players practicing. The team looked very promising with the up tempo style of practice. I believe I saw the Raiders running the Wishbone Offense which is very exciting, and I also saw they brought back two coaches from previous years- Coach Mumphrey( Wide Receivers and Defensive Backs) and Coach Yates( Offensive Line and Outside Linebackers/ Defensive Ends). The Raiders are traveling to Bracken on August 15 for a scrimmage, should be an excitement matchup for both parties Hopefully the Raiders are able to turn their hard work into victories this year. Will try to update people as much as possible

I think this will be the final standings at the end of the year Walton-Verona- returning most of starters and almost won the district last year Trimble- only lost 2 staters and bounce back season Carroll- lost Newby, Gibbs, and other key seniors to the o and d. But have a strong returning group Owen- young could even slide to the 3, QB is returning as well as half the offensive line Gallatin- lost a huge senior class but still have Brown at Running back this team will be the wild card Now the Carroll and Trimble is the matchup that may switch do to the JV game last year filled with starters on varsity that game will be very interesting in week 9. WV is obliviously the clear favorite for the District title but once a team figures out how to stop that triple option, the game will be forced upon there defense to step up and make plays. Ultimately I believe that if WV gets a shot at NCC before the 3rd round of the playoffs them they will beat them. Gallatin and Owen are the schools that are the wild cards because they're young and aggressive schools. I am not counting them out at all but I don't know enough about what players they have returning for them.

The team needs confidence in themselves and I truly believe that this senior class could pull this program out of the ruins. I have watched this program die to 15 players and then emerge with 40 players the following season. Besides, to go undefeated is less than 3% chance but I did say 7-3 is the worst this team should finish. Nothing is impossible but this team has a major problem and it's lack of experience in critical situations, which negates to a possible 1% percent of a undefeated season. Trimble County will have to make a statement this year and prove they "can" be a contender and will have to prove it in week 3 against Corbin. Officially now 3 days to go till high school football season begins!

I agree District 5 is up for grabs and nobody in the district wants to play or get stuck with NCC in the first round, but I thought Gallatin had a shot to beat them last year.

Drove by the football field a couple of days ago and saw some major progress. Both field goals are set, track is outlined, the long jump and high jumps area are outlined as well, and I saw top soil on the parking lot side. The field is coming along very nice and appear to be on schedule, hopefully the field will be ready by the first game this season.

Trimble County is a building program under the guidance of Head Coach Justin Franklin, he will be returning for his 3rd season as the Head Coach. Coach Franklin will finally have a huge senior class of 13 players. Bo Hawkes #9 RB/ DE- Bo is coming off one of his most impressive seasons on the offensive side of the ball leading the team in catches, receiving yards, and rushing yards. He has great vision and exceptional speed. Bo will be returning from ACL injury he suffered in week v.s. Walton Verona. Brian Haney #2 WR/ OLB- Brian Haney is probably if not one of the smallest players on the field at 5'4. Brian lead his team in tackles and was a leader on the defensive side of the ball. Great leadership ability look for this guy to make a huge impact this year heading into his final season. Dusty Wysbrod #7 WR/ S- Dusty is an exceptional player on both sides of the ball, he creates plays and delivers punishing hits to anyone in his range. Dusty however has been plagued with injury's this past couple seasons, hopefully he will be able to return to the field this season TJ Payton #11 QB/ DB TJ Payton played some time at quarterback this past season, being the back-up to Tevin Taylor. Look for the Raiders to lean on TJ a little bit for his passing ability and his ability to get an offense moving Logan Kunselman #54 OL/ DL- Logan has the ability to be a great player heading into his senior season, would like to see develop his pass blocking more but e played a very nice roles in the run game during the Eminence, KCD and Walton Verona game this past fall. Wyatt Adkins #25 RB/ LB- Wyatt is short ground and pound rusher who hits the hole hard and keeps fighting for extra yards. Last year his season got cu short due to an injury unknown. I look to see Wyatt return and be a mad man on offense probably even rushing for +800 yards. Can't wait to see this guy back on the field. David Marsh #75 OL/ DL- David Marsh was probably the easiest guy to identify on the Raiders offense this past season. He played a substitution role at the end of the 2013 season and the beginning of 2014 season. Its probably best stated that the Raiders leaned on this guy towards the end of the year with the decision to place him at center and saw a dramatic increase in the run game. I watched this guy maul people inside of the Wishbone offense, I hope Coach Franklin brings it back next fall. David needs to work on his speed and be first off the ball on defense and he could be an exceptional player. Brady Mahoney #56 TE/ LB- Brady made the move from OL to TE at the end of the year which aloud the Raiders to run to the outside. He also manage to catch a few dump passes in couple games. Brady also plays very well LB, look for this guy and Brian Haney to monsters on defense this year. Cade Thornsberry #60 OL/ LB- Cade played center at the beginning of the season and then switched out to tackle. He is good run blocker but likes to double team a little too much. Although he did look good at a Mike blitz, look for Cade to be force to reckon with this year. Now there are a few more seniors who could blossom this year under Franklin, look for a Chaylen Sedam, Zach Nelson, Brandon Yowler to play more of a role in the offense this year as well as defense. I also have two negative pieces in mind, the Raiders changed the offensive line nearly every week as well as the offense . I think if the Raiders play to their strengths which is short quick passes and follow your Big boys on the offense then we could possibly see this team make the playoffs. The Wishbone last year was a great fit to compliment those exceptional running backs and I think if you incorporate a few passes inside the offense then you could open more elaborate formations/ offenses. Overall the Raiders should be poised for a bounce back season, maybe undefeated???, but the lowest this team should finish is a 7-3 record making the playoffs in the #1 or #2 seed. The Raiders only problem after that will be their experience in those kind of situations. Good Luck Raiders, I hope to see winning season.

Trimble County is classified as cupcake team but the program has been through turmoil having replaced 4 coaches in a 5 year span. Coach Justin Franklin finally took control of the program and is returning for his 3rd season as the head coach, now this year he will have 13 seniors in the mix along with a close to 50 man roster(highest it has ever been since taking over the program.) Now am I saying Trimble County will be a dominate force, no, but this program is on the rise as long as Justin Franklin is in control. T Hopefully this year the score will not be as bad but the Raiders due have to travel into the house of the Redhounds.
