I rewatched. There kid caught the ball facing back to the QB, turned made 2-3 quick steps and was hit probably between the 2nd and 3rd heading UPfield. No pass incomplete, the side or back judge continues to follow the play..the Mayfield coaches immediately move toward the officials to ask for something after the play - I would assume “incomplete”. A minute or so later, the ball is back in Mayfields hands. Giftwrapped.

If I were a Mayfield fan. I would say. You know we were aided ALOT, especially the 2 minute overturned call, which you don’t have video replay…you called it a catch and fumble and let the play continue. Yeah PT probably deserved to win the game and we got SEVERAL loose calls. I hate the refs did that. That’s probably what I would do - but I doubt I’ll see it. I guess when you’ve absorbed it so many times you defend the cooking.

I have no dog in fight - you do. You call incomplete as it happens. But at Mayfield you come together and figures out how to aid Mayfield in the 4th quarter when the other team is getting ready to end it. Bull. There were many bad calls that were questionable that aided Mayfield a lot more. Too bad a lot of us that have no dog in fight saw it first hand.

Let’s be honest. We are not the 2nd best team in 5A. Missing Carbon on defense. We have holes there. Offense is very solid sans tonight. If we play like this we are done round 2.

Defense only gave up 7, but offense left 14-21 points on the field. Boone bad decision making and cost O near red zone. Get rid of ball. Once it got deep 3rd quarter O was content to run and play defense. Carbon had probably 170ish on ground 2 TDS.

Maybe the Paducah paper…but I would love to know the officiating crews ties to Mayfield. That game should be reviewed by KHSAA and reprimand if necessary. Most blatant cooking I have EVER witnessed.

Mayfield should be very proud of their officials.

You can’t let the kid catch it run with it. Fumble it, not blow the play dead and then over rule it with an incomplete 2 minutes later. Terrible homers. Par for course there.

Tighlman should havre had the ball on Mayfield 35 up 1. Probably game. 2 minutes later, they blow the play dead when he lost it. That turned the game and gifted it. Yes Mayfield still made plays and scored, but. That was a huge homer takeaway. And not the only one from what I’ve read.
