Was at Lexington Catholic this week watching some of the games. Was able to take in parts of several teams' games. Madison Central, GRC, Lexington Catholic, Mason County, PRP, Mercer County, Frederick Douglass, Walton-Verona, Tates Creek & Sayre. There are probably other teams there as well, but these were the teams that I had an opportunity to see parts of their games.

I would say you were a little off with Lextown Ballerz (0-3).

Matts Mustangs will be the favorite in the 17u. Nky Squad is the defending champ but without Miles. Kentucky Royals should make some noise and Western Kentucky Elite will be good.

Will the status of Chris Mack stepping down at Xavier and taking the UL position impact Jake Walters going to Xavier?

Crazy ending last night. When Stanley made the lay up for Walton to take the lead, the clock showed 1.5 seconds. Referees changed it to 2.8 seconds. After watching the game ending this morning, it appears the clock didn't start on time and Simon Kenton got approximately 4.2 seconds to get a shot off. Had they made the shot, and the referees hadn't noticed the time delay, but several cameras had it on film, I wonder how they would have handled that? I am assuming the Pioneers would have won, because they can't use a camera and the referees didn't appear to notice. Would have been crazy!!

GC can't play HC until the finals. They are from the same district.

Emotional night for Walton seniors & they came out of the gate slowly. They were down 26-8 at one point, but got with in single digits at the half. Had they knocked down a few mor of the free throws & layups they missed, this could easily have been a 15-20 WV win.

Walton Verona will have a couple of good ones in seniors to be DE Kameron Pardee 6'4 185 & DT Logan Boone 5'10 300.

Walton Verona has two good ones coming back, seniors to be Grant Grubbs & Micah Alford. Grubbs has 194 career tackles, 29 for loss (including 10 sacks) & Alford has 65 career tackles.

Did Simon have anyone missing? If South Oldham did really have three of their better players missing, that is quite an accomplishment.

Reality is, you can't even look at this year's statistics for him. The only game he was truly healthy was Dixie. His Improvement at the end of last season was great, but his offense improvement over the spring, summer and fall had him on track to be one of the top players in Northern Kentucky offensively and he was already a premier game changer defensively. He made great strides over the AAU season and I look for him to develop even further between now and the next school season. If he recovers fully from the injury he is only scratching the surface of his potential. It will be interesting to see where he ends up playing beyond high school.

Agree and I think they will get better as the season progresses. Looking forward to see how they do in the All A.

Agree, but with Miles at full strength, they would have been the hands-down favorite.
